I booked 2 nights at this boutique hotel in Brisbane for my solo trip over there. I managed to get it for $130 a night using Hotel Club and a special offer they had at the time, but looking at their website it seems the usual price is about $250 a night for the standard room.

The room was gorgeous! Large tv mounted on the wall in front of the bed, everything very upscale looking. The bed was so comfortable. And the bathroom.. it had a seat which folds up against the wall when not in use, but could be used during your shower. There was no shower walls or doors, only a curtain which you could pull around to section the shower area off.

The room also came with a fitness first pass. The fitness first is a short walk from the hotel (5 or so minutes), in the city.

A nice cosy bar on little lonsdale (on the side of the QV complex). I bought a voucher but it had expired. I sent an email and they were happy to honour it anyway. The cocktail jug we had was a coffee based one and quite yummy! Seems like a pretty good hang out - I know friends that go there quite regularly.

I went here with a voucher - $10 for a shampoo, head massage, blowdry and hand massage (usually $35). I probably would have paid the $35 - not a bad price for getting your hair styled in the city. The head massage felt nice and the hand massage was done with some relaxing scented oils.

The hair took a fair bit longer than it needed to. The lady dried my hair with a hair dryer, and then began to straighten it with the dryer. It was very very thick. So she then used a straightening iron to straighten it (which she could have just done from the beginning and had the same result). They're students, though, so fair enough. I wouldn't really trust them with anything serious like a cut or colour personally, but I'm fussy and my hair isn't easy to deal with.

The chips here are what every kid from the primary and high school across the road come to McAdam Square for after school as a snack, or sometimes even during class breaks. At the very least, I've known of them and their awesome chips for 8+ years. They're about $3 for a box of chips - they come out fresh (because people are constantly buying chips so they constantly are cooking them), crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside - the perfect chip. And they are addictive.

I've never had anything else at Amigos, but I've seen the odd person buy a souvlaki or chicken. The majority of their sales have got to be chips, though.

I used to come here throughout my childhood - it was our local fish and chips place. The chips were absolutely amazing - chicken salt and vinegar on them. However they had some ownership changes - they're fairly average now. Chips got thicker and less amazing.

I had a voucher for this place, so I paid around half price. But the items were quality. The underwear cost $35 (usual price) and a pack of 6 anklet socks $25. As you can imagine, these items at half price are great value! If you can get items on sale or discounted here, go for it.

Went here for breakfast with a voucher. We were seated and served quite quickly. We got the big breakfast, an omelet and orange juices. They were good. There was a choice of fillings for the omelet. The place had a nice atmosphere - I'd love to return there for drinks one day.

Very yummy and very quick service/cooking! About $14 for a regular noodle box (however I had a voucher where it was only $13 for 2 boxes)

Bought a coupon for a dozen cupcakes with candy red roses on them, $20 (usually $47.40). At an extra cost they organised delivery too. This was a nice alternative to the usual flowers roses. The candy roses were really pretty, but hard to eat and very very sugary! The cupcakes themselves were quite nice.

Had a voucher for all you can eat pizza for two and a drink each for $18 (usually $46).

Waited aaaages for the first pizzas, so we didn't bother ordering any more. It was decent, but nothing special. Price isn't bad if they let you order more than one pizza at once - but they don't.

We ordered our drinks - the waiter told us we could have anything we wanted. When we got up to pay however we got into an argument with the other waiter who said the drink we ordered wasn't one of the free drinks. I showed him the voucher, pointing out that it didn't specify any limitations. They ended up letting us have the drink as the free one.
