services leaves a bit to be desired- when i turn up to a restaurant I don't expect to have sharply said to me "you know this is a vegetarian restaurant don't you?" Well funny that because i'm vegetarian and planned on eating here.
But that aside i've ignored such things are been a big fan of this place for years.
the satay chicken & beef is to die for.
becoming a vegetarian at age 9 in a family of meat eaters meant that going out for Chinese food was always disappointing. The family would have 4 dishes to choose between and they'd be going crazy. I'd have one lame 1/2 baked attempt at a veg friendly dish.
So going here was so fantastic - i went with my partner & the in-laws and we all loved it. It was the first time being able to share dishes which doesn't sound like much but its a huge deal to me. The food was sensational, flavour, style, substance. It has it all!
Great service too.
Approximate cost: $10
the best coffee i've had anywhere in melbourne - with the most gorgeous latte artwork. really funky atmosphere - a real hidden treasure in the S.E suburbs. has an edgy class to it - not unlike the kind of cafe's you find in all the trendy streets in town. the only difference is u get all the good stuff that you would expect from a trendy cafe but without the pretentious service & prices that usually come with it.
so in summary - cheap + great service & staff + super awesome coffee = amazing cafe
