Being near the roundabout Montagna is in the heart of Blackwood and a great location for a quick coffee or meal before embarking on the more boring task of doing the weekly shop in the nearby Woolies or Coles.
We stopped in for breakfast this morning and chose one of the tables in the outdoor eating area. I ordered the Bacon & Eggs while my husband ordered "The Hills". Mine was what you would expect and was good value at $9. My husband's was not much dearer at $11 and was just as large. Definitely enough to fuel up for the day. "The Hills" is a little different from the standard breakfast fare consisting of scrambled eggs with diced, spicy chorizo and a little capsicum for colour. Both were yummy and so was the coffee. This spot has been a favourite of ours since they first opened as Rimini's and it's good to see that the change of name and ownership hasn't affected the quality or value of the meals here. I'd definitely recommend it to family and friends.

This review is for Blighty's Traditional British Fish & Chips, Aberfoyle Park SA

Blighty's moved into the Hub Shopping Centre not so long ago and since then there have been a steady stream of customers. Loving the range of fish found in British fish & chip shops we decided to give this place a go. We ordered the Haddock & chips option. Service was quick & friendly and the haddock was cooked to perfection and everything we expected it to be. The chips were generous in quantity but too soggy for our tastes. We will go back again and just order the fish - it was that good. Being traditional they offer mushy peas and a range of English soft drinks - but we didn't try these. The haddock & chips for 2 people was well-priced at bout $20.

This review is for Haigh's Chocolates, Adelaide SA

I only buy Haighs when shopping for chocolate for gifts. The quality is excellent, the service friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They happily spent several minutes assembling a combination of awkward items into a well wrapped gift at no extra charge. And yes, while the price is higher than that of store bought chocolate it is no dearer than other chocolates of equal quality. My nephews look forward to their chocolate bilbies each Easter and I look forward to my chocolate pastilles. Last visit I tried their coffee flavoured pastilles and instantly bought a bagful. I normally only buy dark chocolate and these were milk but the coffee flavour was so intense and rich that I could've sworn it was dark chocolate. Yummo.

This review is for The Lane Vineyard, Hahndorf SA

We didn't intend to go to this vineyard but we'd driven out this way only to find our original choice for lunch closed and we knew the vineyard offered lunches. We were given a table out on the covered deck overlooking the vineyard and across the valley. The meal was superb. The vineyards wines are available by the glass and are top quality. For non-wine drinkers they carry a locally made beer which my husband quite liked. The meals are not cheap but well worth it for the quality and the view. Our visit was for a special occasion but we loved it so much we were back again with the in-laws for a repeat visit within weeks. Have recommended it already to friends and would recommend it to anyone wanting their meal with a view.

I never thought I'd fall in love with a supermarket. This store is several kilometres away and we drive past a few others to go to this place but it is worth it. The range of goodies is simply amazing and a definite foodies delight. There are locally made products that I have never seen anywhere else that I'm just itching to try I only hope I live long enough to get through them all. Parking is a breeze with an undercover car park so your car is cool and dry and so are you. The supermarket itself is clean and the aisles wider than those of my local and the service was quick and efficient. This is definitely my preferred supermarket and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a store filled with more choices and supports small local brands.

I really am surprised that they are still in business. I went to this hair salon several times because the woman who cut & coloured my hair did a good job but then she left and the owner of the salon took over. Thankfully it was only a cut that I was booked in for that day but I was left with the worst haircut ever. She raced through the task so fast and when she was finished I was left with a very uneven mess that was supposed to be lightly layered. It took going to another hairdresser and several weeks of growing time to get it back to what it should've looked like. The only recommendation I can make is to avoid this place.

This review is for Skillogalee Winery & Restaurant, Sevenhill SA

Hubby took me to Skillogalee Restaurant for lunch for a special occasion. The restaurant itself is in a lovely old building, full of character, great views over the vineyard and a welcoming log fire for those cooler days. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. I ordered the confit duck (approx. $33) and it was one of the best duck meals I've ever had. Wonderfully tender and moist and it was a wonderful accompaniment for the Basket Pressed Shiraz. I'd definitely go back to try some of the other delicious sounding choices on the menu and I'd certainly recommend it to family and friends. The only downside is that it's a 2.5 hour drive from where I live otherwise I'd visit the restaurant much more often.

Great café, you'd never guess you were in a suburban shopping centre. The walls are decorated with wonderful art works and the owners have provided a mix of traditional dining tables and comfortable sofas. There's even a kiddie corner. The coffees are yummy and come complete with a chocolate freckle. The food on offer is varied and the staff are more than willing to provide something that is not on the menu. And even better for me they provide decaf coffee that tastes as good as the caffeinated version and for a similar price. The prices are reasonable and the service excellent.

This review is for Scamps Hair & Beauty, Aberfoyle Park SA

I regularly get my hair cut and/or coloured at Scamps by Ashley and have done since I first went to Scamps after a hair disaster at another business. The service is professional, friendly, quick, comes with a bonus hot drink (mine's a cappuccino) made to your liking and is without the usual salon product sales pitch making for a relaxing visit. Prices are about what you would expect to pay in any salon for the same service. Shoulder length ladies haircut is around $45, 3/5 head foils (2 colours) approx. $125. I'd definitely recommend this business and Ashley's services to any of my friends without hesitation.
