The staff there are always friendly and happy to have a chat. They'll advise on best produce on the day if you just ask. Nice to talk with one of the grower/owners too (and trust his judgement if he says the avocado he picks is perfect - it will be!) They even have samples of fruit to try. Most fruit and veg are sourced from local growers... so everything is fresh and lasts heaps longer. And they are always trialling new and unusual fresh produce you only see in city gourmet shops, as well as their expanding gourmet food range.
