The ladies keep this place running are truly exceptional. Their service is beyond none. The food is simple cafe fare and always satisfying. The best asset this place has is it's location. Tucked away inside the Flower Power Garden Centre, The Hidden Cafe backs onto the outdoor nursery. It provides a surprisingly relaxing environment. There is nothing wrong with the coffee. Its a balanced basic blend suitable for the average coffee drinker (I prefer something with a bit more punch, only because I'm a coffee snob!).
This is a definite must when in the area. (Try one of their specialty pies, or their chicken pesto panini).

For the true coffee lover. There is always a new Coffee of the week (Single Origin). This means the coffee experience is always different. Their talented baristers expertly produce faultless coffee. Their knowledge and dedication to their craft rings true when they give advice on how best to enjoy the Single Origin coffee of the week. For the more traditional coffee drinker, their house blended coffee is phenomenal. To compliment the main attraction (the coffee) the vibe is relaxed, clean and warm. Together with the simple yet exceptional food on offer, you'll be in for a memorable cafe experience.

These guys are in one of the toughest retail strips in Melbourne. Which is why I seem to continually get amazing prices. Because of their surrounding competition they don't back away from cheap prices. How they differ from other retailers around them is their service. An absolutely outstanding team of salespeople work here (even though I have my favorites). They truly go above and beyond. The knowledge of the white goods sales people is unparalleled. I decked out my recent kitchen reno with appliances from Harvey Norman Maribyrnong. They have a great display and again, the knowledge is awesome. Service, the best advice & the best price. I'm a happy camper.

It's just Chinese takeaway, but complacency and quality hindering cost cuts are not found here! The ingredients that Yummy Palace use are always fresh and high quality. Their generous portions don't compromise quality! A must for the Chinese takeaway fan.

I may as well have given my order to a damp cloth. With no personality whatsoever, a young man took our order after we had waited for 30 minutes. This young man makes me wonder why boring and un-polite people ever aim to work in the 'hospitality' industry .
After waiting for half an hour I had plenty of time to work my way through a scummy once-upon-a-time laminated menu. With a selection of over 50 70's inspired dishes I had come to a safe decision - a $10 sandwich, the cheapest on the menu.
I'm never happy when I am paying for a mush of lettuce and strange mayonnaise (among other scary things) slapped onto two pieces of the regions finest stale bread.
After my encounter with what I remember to be a compost like meal (which I didn't eat), my coffee arrived.
True to the 70's style, my 'flat' white arrived with 4 inches of foam on top and the wastage from the Cadbury chocolate factory.
I later enjoyed a much cheaper instant coffee from my kitchen.

Harsh? Yes, but some people simply should not be in business.

This review is for Sweet Poison, Newcastle West NSW

**UPDATE**
On my most recent visit, I unfortunately have to take back the comments below (from my initial review)
Since my last visit to Sweet Poison, the prices have risen, the quality of food and coffee has dramatically declined & the staff have developed attitude.
The increasing cost of running a small business is no excuse to inflate prices to a ridiculous level. Unfortunately I think complacency has taken over. It seems that Sweet Poison believes that because it has been mildly successful, it has the right to forgo quality and cash in on unsuspecting, loyal customers.

I'm all about a good coffee.
These guys deliver that, and they serve their latte's in Bodum glasses - this is good!
They have the best range of designer baked goods in Newcastle. They are expensive, but are well worth the money.
Cafe's and restaurants within shopping centers are generally horrible - with bad food straight from a 70's cook book, foul coffee, and a waitress incapable of cracking a smile. None of these things can be said about Sweet Poison

Decent baked goods, as you would expect from a basic bakery.
Reasonable prices, good range of inventive pies.
The best part is the service - very friendly and pleasant.

Not a bad little pub.
Good live music on occasion.
Reasonably priced drinks and food.
The food is okay but less than you would expect from a pub - that says a lot.
Got talking to the owner, they are new and have big plans, it's current state is a roll over from the previous, seemingly incompetent, owners.

Over priced food delivered by angry people - they weren't just having a bad day. I gave them 3 chances and each time they have been rude, argumentative and seem to be incapable of smiling.
Their 'authentic wood fired pizza' is a good idea and something new to Redhead, however, it's made by amateurs and is far too expensive.
It's a shame it occupies such a fantastic location.

The actual dental service is good, you get good care. The dentists and hygienists are friendly and explain what they are doing in reasonable detail.
It is too expensive.
There is an obvious culture of up selling - They offer and push un-necessary procedures and cosmetic procedures.
Up selling is not appropriate when it comes to a form of heal care.
