This review is for Casa Mexicana, Labrador QLD

While holidaying on the Gold Coast we drove past this very nicely presented Mexican Restaurant in Labrador a number of times and so after doing some research on the web and seeing a number of favourable reviews - I have been caught out before with Mexican food as it seems to be something not done very well in Australia - we went there for dinner last night and were not disappointed.
This is a family run business which is just starting off, the chef used to cook for one of the Mexican chain restaurants but decided to go it alone as he believed he could do a lot better, and we are sure glad he did. The secret to this place, which we all know is not that big a secret in the food business, is the absolute insistence on using fresh ingredients, the Guacamole and Salsas are made fresh every day, the meat and vegetables are brought in fresh every day and this really makes a big difference to the taste and quality of the food.
The service at front of house is friendly and very welcoming and knowledgeable on the menu.
The reasonably priced menu is extensive and covers all the usual Mexican favourites from Nacho's, Fajitas, Enchiladas, Quesadillas and Taco's and the deserts are to die for.
If you want a really good Mexican fix while on the Gold Coast then you cannot go wrong by dropping in to Casa Mexicana you won't regret it.
As an aside they currently have a BYO licence at the moment, no real issue as there is a bottle shop right next door, however, they will be fully licenced very soon.
