I write to Chess Movers to convey my gratitude for the wonderful job your staff did when moving me in March from Warnbro in Perth, WA to Lenah Valley in Hobart, Tasmania. I wonder if you could pls pass on this message to your employees who made the move go so well?
I've been meaning to send this email for weeks, but 'life' - not least my father being in and out of hospital - has gotten in the way.
It was a big undertaking to move across the country, and I can say that my hopes and expectations of your firm were fully met and actually surpassed. The Chess staff I dealt with were totally professional - but also wonderful people to deal with. I could not have been more impressed with Jessica Theseira's initial home visit and our numerous follow-up emails and phone calls, Spencer and Wilhomena's packing of my things, and Mohammed and Andre for the removal itself. They all took enormous good care of me and my things. They were also all warm and delightful people to interact with. You certainly have some gems on your staff!
My move had perhaps more complexities than most. There were 3 dropoff points for my things - 2 in Perth, then the bulk of it to Hobart. I was stressed by it all, and your staff's unfussed approach helped me relax into what needed to be done together.

Despite only having a half-load to cross Bass Strait, I requested an extremely tight delivery time - just 16 days from Perth to Hobart. Jessica's great assistance made this happen; Hobart delivery occurred at 8.45am on my requested date. In the end, Dad's health required my ongoing stay in NSW, so I couldn't even be there, but my brother in law John was there to receive your Hobart affiliates. John informed me that the Hobart staff also did a great job.

I'd not actually seen the Hobart property at that stage- my sister Liz did the viewings for me - and assumed it was a standard driveway. So I was nonplussed when your Hobart affiliate emailed me requesting a $330 top-up fee to switch to a smaller truck on the grounds of a very tight driveway/turning circle. On arrival here, I see the problem, and think that surcharge totally reasonable.
I haven't unpacked every single box yet, but everything I have was totally undamaged in the move - including delicate wineglasses and ancient family treasures.
So for all these reasons, I express my great gratitude, and ask that you kindly convey this message to your colleagues I've named here. There were several other administrative and accounts staff who were also good to deal with. Many thanks…

Best wishes
Dave Freeman

Approximate cost: $5000
