Two visits and I haven't quite had the 5 star experience other reviewers have... Visit one was interrupted numerous times by the stylist answering the phone and during visit two I was a made to feel uncomfortable by a senior staff member's attitude towards the apprentice that was cutting my hair. I did however, very much appreciate the quality of cut (have tried elsewhere and 'got what I paid for'). Giving Vanilah another go..

Horrible experience in the Ballarat store. Two weeks prior I made a booking for my birthday dinner. The statement on their website “Group bookings & functions a specialty [sic]” prompting me to do so. Three hours before the reservation, I received an incredibly rude and borderline threatening phone call from the store manager demanding that I pay $15 per head if I do not fill all 16 seats of the booking! In complete shock, I told him that I was not given this information either when the booking was made, or when I called to confirm the booking. He carried on telling me how I would cause them to lose so much business if I had even one empty chair in their dining room. Never has an establishment made me feel like such a nuisance and so unwelcome!
I told him what a sh*tty thing he was doing calling me on my birthday to scam money out of me. To this he could only reply ‘Very sorry, happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday' – like that was going to help!

By this stage I just wanted to call the whole thing off, but a teary phone call to a friend convinced me not to. Now, I wish I had.

My birthday dinner went ahead, but I will not be returning to Taco Bill Ballarat. Nor, will I suggest anyone else do either.

Wait staff had no idea what was going on! My guests were constantly chasing up drink orders that were either wrong, or just did not show up at all (I am certain we were charged for at least some on these ‘no shows'). Food was greasy, bland and not at all ‘authentic'. We were overcharged for a dessert that was meant to be included in the banquet, and a lengthy argument had to take place to correct. At the end of the meal some people wanted coffee, only to be told the coffee machine was broken. Then upon ordering tea, were told the wait staff will have to ‘go out and buy some tea bags'?!?!

And then the bill. For an establishment that claims it has “Group bookings & functions a specialty”, being handed a bill and a calculator is not the way I would like to spend the end of the evening. Surely to specialise in catering for a large groups a better payment system is needed! Every other restaurant in Ballarat does this just fine!

No thanks Taco Bill Ballarat for a very unhappy birthday to me.

Unprofessional & Unreliable‎‎
No show for time scheduled for quote. Had to reschedule to suit them.
Trades person disappeared for 30mins, returned to say he was 'on the phone to his girlfriend'.
Can't get receipt for payment, was told 'there is no record of the job'.
I have had alot of my time wasted by this company. I could have got the same job done for a comparable price with much less frustration.
