Went to visit friends who live in Wakerley last week and they suggested going here for dinner.
It is within working distance to their house, which is super easy, and after eating the delicious food, it is clear why they go there so often.
The staff are friendly and efficient, generally happy to help out and serve their customers.
The place was fairly quiet when we were there, which may impact, but food was delivered quickly and quite nicely presented.
There is a nice atmosphere and buzz in general and a decent selection on the menu.
This is a great place to have in a shopping complex - if only because it is somewhere I can send my husband when he gets bored of shopping but I still haven't run out of steam. More than once when he starts getting grumpy I have walked him to the bar, got him settled with a drink (and all the bags of shopping), left him there so I could shop in peace then gone back and enjoyed a beer while I drive him crazy with a blow by blow explanation of all the things I bought after I left him. From the sympathetic looks he gets from the male bar staff when they come clear away his glasses, I think we are far from original in doing this!
They do have nice pub style food too, if you are up for a meal, and decent specials on various things different nights of the week.
Went to Alchemy for our first wedding anniversary dinner - totally planned as a surprise by my awesome husband.
This is a lovely restaurant. Beautiful location, looking out over the river and the bridge all lit up, really stunning backdrop for photos which is fantastic for special occasions.
The staff are definitely the greatest advantage of this place - they are super professional, well trained in service and extremely friendly without being intrusive or overbearing. Nothing is too much trouble as they go about their work quietly and efficiently.
The food is also lovely. I made a bad ordering choice, thought I would try something new but turns out I don't like it, but I know that is about me not the quality of the food or the chef. My husbands dinner was really good! They have a solid selection to cover most people's taste, and nice specials each night to make your choice that bit more difficult!
Definitely worth considering if you want a special dinner out.

As a bit of a shoe lover, I don't mind this shop.
They have a bit of variety in their shoes, a very solid range of 'practical', low heel type shoes. I tend more towards flashy type heels myself, the 5+ inch kind, which this store really doesn't stock much of, but for work shoes, I go here and tend to get a few bits and pieces every now and then. They have practical, solid block heel type things, but in some really pretty colours and designs, so it doesn't make it so bad that they are lower!
They almost always have a sales table out front also, which is nice. The beauty for me of having tiny size 6 feet is that I can almost always get something cheap from sales tables, so this is always my first stop when I get to the shops.
A cute tobacconist in the shopping complex, near the travel agency. I needed cigars for my dad for a thank you gift, so went to see what they have, and the staff member was very helpful. I am so not a cigar user myself, so needed a fair bit of guidence which they were happy to provide. Their advice seems to have been good, judging from the happy father I had post gift giving.
They have much more than just tobacco products, lots of little gifty type things that are cute and a bit different, well worth checking out.
Ok, first up, I need to be clear, this is so not my normal type of shop (I am a girly, buy too many shoes type person) but my husband is a complete nerd, who LOVES this shop, so Despite it being far from my normal habitat, I have used this shop, both online purchase delivered and going in to collect stuff, always with my husband however, never alone.
This last point, is kind of important, I think. If you are the sort of person who has mastered 'on' and 'off' when it comes to computers and you see most other things (such as building the stupid things from scratch) as kinda irrelevant and boring, you should know this is not the place for you. While the staff and nice and friendly, they are there to help those who know what they are doing. Those who don't know what all the bits are called and what they do... should take along someone who does. Otherwise you will stand there completely flummoxed and walk away no better off.
If however computers are your thing, you like playing with them and all that, then this is the place for you. Great prices, good quality stuff, all those good things :)
First tried out this place after getting a gift voucher. I probably wouldn't have gone without it, cause it is kinda expensive (to me) and more than I would typically spend on my hair, but I guess it is one of those places that make me think 'you get what you pay for'.
The service is great, the staff are professional and friendly, they are awesome with the pamper element of treatments and they do a wonderful job with all things hair. Left with fabulous hair and feeling great.
Have subsequently been back a few times - not every time I get my hair done, but those times I really want to walk away feeling amazing, this is the place I go.
A cute theatre - kinda old fashioned, but really nice because of that. Only 2 cinemas so not really always a great selection of films to check out, but it makes the decision of what to see much easier.
Fairly reasonably priced - going up, as everything is, which kinda is annoying, but still better than the big chain places, which is a bonus.
Stayed here overnight on an Easter break road trip. Seriously, driving by a place with a name like "Bowen Arrow", who wouldn't stop and check it out? Beyond the clearly awesome name, it is a fairly average, run of the mill type motel. Nothing particularly spectacular but nothing overly hideous either.
It is right on the highway which is good, you don't have to divert into town or anything just stop, sleep and then get back to it the next day when you are ready.
The lady at the front counter was nice and welcoming, checked us in without any issues and arranged out dinner - they have a menu on the front counter and bring it to your room if you want. Big bonus when you are tired from too much driving.
The rooms are quite nice, quite a bit of space actually. The bathroom however was a bit pokey, but for one night that is survivable.
Overall, a decent place to stop on your way to wherever you are going.
Approximate cost: $120
As a completely non trade smart person, I always feel a bit at the mercy of anyone I call, and with some renovations we were doing at home I have had way more contact with a variety of trades than I am used to.
After a huge mess of no-shows for a mass of reasons, Michael from A+ was a complete blessing.
He showed up when he said he would, called to keep me informed during the various stages of the work we had to get done, was super diligent in making sure all the work was completely up to code and suitable for our needs.
Seriously, I cannot speak highly enough of the service provided!
If you are on the Southside and in need of a plumber or gas fitter, Michael should absolutely be your first call - not your 3rd or 4th like for me!
