One of the first Woolies I went to when i moved to Newcastle recently and was trying to find some of the better shopping experiences in the area and this Store was a bit of an eye opener. It was a good sized store, kinda reminds me of how Woolworths used to be back in the good ol days and I reckon I found Australia's oldest Check-out Chick there hahahaha!! She must've been about 80 yrs old, slower than a wet week but she had a wit that would run rings around women half her age...she was a classic and worth the looong wait through the checkout. I enjoyed the experience.

Franklins Stores are usually no where as big as the 2 major Competitors but I found that this Franklins in Mayfield quite good. It's larger than most of their stores and have a reasonable range of fresh stock and my Wife and I agree we'll go back there again for sure. It seems to be very organised, clean, well spaced isles and the staff are friendly. Car park is a little confusing the first time you go there but car lanes are not too narrow like some car parks.
Overall a pleasant experience.

This review is for Adamstown Butcher, Adamstown NSW

I went to this Butcher because of the recommendations here and was dissappointed. I bought 2 rump steaks that looked nice on display but when i grilled them (medium), they were as tough as an old pair of army boots. I haven't been back since.I have bought nicer, more tender rump steaks from Woolies & Coles but I really wanted to buy meats from a local business.

Approximate cost: $18.60
