Tired and travel weary, we were glad for the proximity of this hotel to the Yarra Valley Tourist Info centre - in fact, it was across the road.
Comfy beds, a small private courtyard, and being renovated.
The hotel had a dining room to rival any. The meals were superb, albeit limited in selection, but that is natural for a pub of its size.
The hotel was quiet at night, which suited us.
We had dinner at the Shamrock. Little did we expect such good dining and service. So good in fact, we went back for two breakfasts, as well.
The dinners were 1st class, and at around $70 - which included 2 drinks each, very good value.
We'd go back - tomorrow.
Approximate cost: $70
Neil and Ian, proprietors of this fabulous eatery, provided us with wonderful service, coffees, and breakfasts to die for.
We had the Big Breakfast, and the 'Just Breakfast' or, Bacon and Eggs. The Kitchen (restaurant) was clean, and tables were spotless. The coffee was amongst the best in Victoria !
I'd like to say we'll be back, tomorrow, but it will be some time, as we live north of Sydney, NSW.
Approximate cost: $50
The Princess and I were in Healesville, having breakfast at Two Fat Men Kitchen, when we raved about the Bacon. We were told where it came from, so we sauntered up a few doors, to this butcher, and bought some. We're stoked!
It lasted 8 days, but they were days started the best way - smoked bacon and eggs. Thank you.
