I've been really happy with Rob from Paveworx, cheaper than a large landscaping company, and I think better quality work as it's just him and he takes pride in what he does.
I've had paving done around a swimming pool and the pool builder is also happy with his work, using expansion foam and caulking to protect to pool shell and coping from the pavers.
I had a pool renovation managed by Steve of CooWee pools, new surface, new coping, new waterline tiles, new chlorinator. It all came up really well. It was done late last year, and I thought I'd give it a few months to settle in - in case there were any issues after the reno.....5 months later there weren't any.
I think their strongest point was their communication, Steve would call and let you know when each stage/task of the pool was going to be done and by who, and was able to address any concerns I had over the phone.
Picking a good pool renovator is a risky and a little bit scary of a task, as if you get the decision wrong you could have wasted $20,000 or more!
I am comfortable recommending CooWee pools, they are honest, and full of intergrity, they were able to deliver on all their promises.
Not getting them to quote would be more of a risk I think as you'd miss out on a very viable pool renovating option.
