Handy little coffee shop and bakery. Great for a coffee before hopping onto the train. Also has seating inside and a couple of tables and chairs outside for those warm days. Although there is almost always someone sitting outside with a coffee regardless of the weather. Also has food, cakes, pies, sandwiches and other drinks.
I love this coffee shop. Well brewed coffee and a nice selection of food. Comfortable seating inside but you can also sit outside, which I love to do over the summer, although you have to deal with the smokers. I love the way you can walk there with your dog and they even supply a water bowl.
Really handy chinese restaurants for those of us in the outer eastern suburbs and being part of Knox O-zone makes it handy before a movie or after shopping or just a family get together.
I've read through some of the reviews and I think the yum-cha hasn't been mentioned enough. Although it's not my favourite chinese restaurant in general, I do really enjoy their yum cha, especially those delicious little egg custard tarts.
Sushi Sushi is my favourite sushi chain. Always consistently good quality. The best value is in buying the hand rolls but I occasionally splurge and buy one of the boxes. You get better variety and flavours in the boxes.
I love this store. It has a large variety of items many of them quite unique and different to what you'd find in your regular toy store or gift store. If you want to buy a gift that's a little bit different then this is the place to go. A bit pricey for everyday but great for the occasional gift or treat.
Love this fish & chips shop. Have never had a bad meal. Good value packs for 2 or 4 people, and they often throw in a few freebies. There's something special about opening the paper and finding an extra potato cake or two.
Can get quite busy though and on a Friday or weekend it may be better to ring in your order if you're in a hurry.
Just about everyone in Melbourne's outer east knows the big watermelon on High Street Rd.
This used to be where I bought all my fruit and veges but lately the quality has gone down and the prices up. I've found the fresh produce just doesn't last as long as it used to and when you buy a big bag of potatoes many of them are already going off. Lately I've returned to my local supermarkets.
Had 2 of my children here and I have nothing but praise for all the staff. They are very caring and supportive and respond to your birthing wishes. Initially I had a lot of trouble breast feeding and the nurses are so patient and helpful I was able to successfully breastfeed before I left the hospital.
Would be pricey without private health insurance though.
Love to get take away pizza from here when friends come over and want something a little casual but still special. Their gourmet pizzas, although a little pricey, are delicious and live up to their gourmet name.
Approximate cost: $17.90/large pizza
Love Cocomos. Went there for a friend's birthday. Great for a cosy dinner or a bigger group like ours. Food was fresh and tasty. Tuesday night is Parma night for just $16. Several different types on offer. I had the Hawaiian. Great value!
