I have dined here a few times now, they have a small eat in dining area and they also do take away. This place has quite a homely and authentic feel to it. The interior of the restaurant is pretty basic looking but to me that doesn't matter as the service was friendly but more importantly the food there is quite delicious! They have a good variety of pasta dishes with some unusual toppings and sauces. I usually get one with a white creamy sauce and it also has capers and a tiny bit of lemon, it's a different take on a cabonara dish. The prices are very reasonable and the food is consistently good quality every time we go there so I would definitely recommend it.

I dined in here recently for lunch, and very much enjoyed the food. They had a great variety of sushi and I tried quite a few different things in small portions, my favourite was the soft shelled crab sushi which was called a sushi spider, because of the way the crab legs were arranged. The tofu and seaweed salad sushi 'ship' and salmon sushi was delicious also. The service was a little slow though in regards to cleaning the table and benches they needed a good wipe down when we got there with sauce etc spilled around the place and took them a few minutes after we sat down to wipe it up. It also ended up quite expensive after a small sized meal but the food tasted really good so overall I would recommend it.

I went here for morning tea for the first time recently, I think this cafe must be new to the area. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the nice spot near the river, it's also a good alternative to getting take away in the shopping center as it's just opposite the front doors in the paved mall area. I liked the decor and some art on the walls and they made my cappuccino well, it was hot enough with some smooth tasting beans, and my slice of cake was tasty and fresh. The service was friendly and fast. At the moment there is some council renovations going on out the front of the cafe so it was a bit difficult to find and get into, but I guess that will be finished up soon.

I dined at the bay brasserie inside here recently and ordered the half a mornay lobster with salad and chips. It was delicious and very reasonably priced for lobster! The portion was generous and we didn't have to wait too long for the food to be ready even though it was quite a busy night there. They also have a gelato bar which was really yummy too with lots of toppings to choose from and very good prices.

I stayed here for three nights with my family recently. They are located in a convenient spot which we found was walking distance from the main street shops and the marina area, and also close by to a good public childrens play equipment. The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful enough and the room was serviced often and clean enough so that was good. The prices were pretty reasonable too, but we were just a little disappointed with the lack of facilities available. I attempted to go to the bar a few times but it shut very early in the evening the staff told me, so I never got the chance. Other than the bar there isn't much to do there, they could do with a kids play equipment or a tennis court or some kind of entertainment. Also they advertised that they had foxtel but when I went to put it on for my child of a night, I noticed that there was only three channels, and one of the channels was fuzzed out every time, so either their antenna needs fixing or the tv's aren't tuned in properly I don't know, but unfortunately it was the family movies channel that didn't work! At least they had wi-fi available though.

I went to the restaurant here for dinner with my husband and daughter when on holidays recently. I ordered a 'chicken stinger' burger with super crunchy chips it was called, and the chips really were very crunchy! The burger tasted beautiful and was quite modern and different, it had some kind of mint and lime coleslaw and a chicken fillet marinated in something just a little spicy with some kind of spicy mayonnaise and some pickles. The mix of toppings sounded quite strange on the menu, but I'm glad I tried it. The presentation was really nice too, they served it on something that looked like a wooden cheese board with some fake newspaper with novelty articles underneath it, to make it look like a classic fish and chip shop wrapping. It was cute! My daughter got a kids meal which was a generous size and came with a drink and ice-cream, and the food didn't take long at all to be served which was excellent. It's also family friendly as there are kids games in the corner.

I stopped in here for afternoon tea when on holidays in nelson bay recently. They had a lovely variety of house made gelato and also some really interesting flavours of turkish delight, although these were not made in house the guy who served me told me. I ordered the turkish delight and a couple of scoops of gelato and a cappuccino. The gelato and turkish delight was delicious, the coffee and turkish was average price, but the gelato is a little pricey compared to other ice-cream in the area. The service was good, and the staff were friendly enough. It is in a lovely spot directly next to the water and the marina.

I had morning tea here while on holidays in port stephens recently, I had a cappuccino and a Christmas cookie, which was a local hunter valley brand one. The coffee was well made, smooth and not burnt beans at all, and the staff made it straight away no waiting so that was good. The service was reasonable. I didn't notice any particularly striking flavour of the coffee though, I thought it would be very strong because of the name of the cafe.

We went here on a holiday recently for lunch. It's in a lovely spot right near the water and just above the shops along the broadwalk. We ordered a meat lovers pizza, a blue haven pizza which had mushroom and proscuitto and a few different types of cheeses so it was quite tasty and a little unusual. The pizzas were on a nice thin base and had a reasonable amount of toppings and tasted quite good and authentic, defiantly better than fast food pizza. The prices were pretty standard for gourmet pizza, but the service wasn't very enthusiastic. It appears to be table service and has a restaurant setting, but then you have to go to the counter to order and pay first and the food just gets brought to the table. It would be more helpful if there was a sign saying no table service so you don't just sit and wait.

I had morning tea here for the first time recently. I love the atmosphere of this place it has quite a quirky arty feel to it with some local artists works up on the wall and also it shares a wall with and is kind of attached to the second hand book shop so you can see all the old books too. I had a cappuccino and a little individual carrot and ginger cake. The cake was nice and moist and was quite cute as it was designed in a little mountain shape with a swirl on the top. The serving size was quite small though and a little expensive for the size of it. The coffee was very well made though and the staff were friendly.
