We go to this La Porchetta often and is one of the best LaPorchetta restaurants we have been to. The food is really good, tasty, fresh and great value. The people are very friendly.

We have used this Vet for the past 15 odd years and found to be very good. But about 12 months ago, my mum's horse sustained an injury to her back leg. Concerned, she got the vet out who said the lamness and swelling was due to an infection and that my mum should put a poultice on it to draw out the infection. Three weeks later, with no improvement, my mum called the vet out and had the mare x-rayed. The x-rays showed a fracture, and our mare was put down. What upsets us was the fact that she suffered for three weeks with a broken leg, and the vet said it was just an infection. However, as terrible as it was, this vet had never made this mistake before, and thinking it was a one-off miss diagnosis, my mum got the same vet out to look at our aged gelding who had been a family member for 15 years, when he sustained and injury to his eye. The vet came out, looked at our horse over the fence, said it was just grass seeds in his eye and prescribed 100ml of penicillin, only enough to do 2 days. He said if the horse was no better by the monday, he would come back to put him down. Two days later, my mum was not convinced that vet had given our old mate the best treatment, so she got another vet out for a second opinion. The infection was so bad, behind his eye, that this vet from a Rochester Vet Clinic, had to get her finger inside his head, and behind his eye ball to drag out all the dead tissue and pus. He was so badly swollen, the swelling was putting preasure on his airways, he had alot of trouble breathing. His swelling, breathing, infection and pain that he had and the vet from Eaglehawk Road Veterinary Clinic did not pick up on. He did not even get close enough to examine the horse. This is absalutely disgusting. Our beautiful family friend is slowly recovering in the hands of the Rochester Vet and is now on anti-inflamitaries, pain killers and antibiotics.

These vets are normally very good, as I said we have used them for along time, and would not have if they were anything but the best. However our last two experiances were really bad, and people should be aware.
