Wow. Just wow. A beautiful little Japanese store in Trafalgar Arcade (next to Medicare), they stock a small range of Japanese grocery items, beautiful Japanese pottery, a range of Japanese alcoholic drinks (the only downside here is they are behind the counter and reading the printed labels is next to impossible from the store). The staff are all delightful and smile beautifully, and I finally tried the bento box yesterday - a perfect blend of Japanese pickles, salads, egg, chicken and rice, and will be back to try the soup soon. This experience is so perfect, I wish I could give them 6 out of 5. Just be aware they have limited trading hours.

I go here for the coffee when I hanging out for one with punch and great flavour. The cups are on the small side (not for when you want a biggun to wrap your hands around), but if you're after a single origin or a fantastic blend of beans, these guys know what they're doing (and if you have a card, every tenth is free). The fruit bread is amazing and not run of the mill, and while I keep meaning to go back for lunch, it's just a little out of my way - the baguettes look amazing though!

This shop has great and consistent coffee and four soups on offer for lunches (I'm sure they have other things, but it's the soup I go there for). The couple who own the shop and their staff are always happy to see you and make me feel as though I'm one of the high points of their day, which is an attitude I see them show to every customer. A couple of tables outside, a bench table in the cafe itself and other tables in the walkway outside (I've never not found somewhere to sit). Highly recommended for lunch with a friend or on your own (it never feels awkward which is great!)

These people do an awesome Greek Lentil Soup (can't rate it highly enough), and the best cornet shaped pizzas for when you're feeling cheesy at lunch. Service ALWAYS comes with a smile and a chat which is lovely.

This review is for Charlie's Bucket, Hobart TAS

I used to shop at Charlie's Bucket quite a bit when my daughter was small, they have beautiful pieces of clothing for little ones that are fabulous quality and just a little bit quirky (read that as "not likely to turn up in Target/Myer or any other department store"), and called in early last week as I noticed they had Sonny Angels in the new Christmas range. The angel I took home was 9.95, I called in later that week to grab another 6 angels, and because I was chatting to the woman who served me, I failed to pay attention - somehow over three days, the price had gone up to 12.95 (which I didn't notice until I got home), and to add insult to injury, on peeling off the price labels, I found they'd simply put the higher price label over the old one. They still sell other sonny angel ranges at 9.95 in their online store. It seems they're taking advantage of one line's popularity.
The service was lovely, the products are great, but I can't help but feel as though I was taken for a ride with the price increase, and can't see myself feeling comfortable enough to shop there again anytime soon.

These guys are awesome - Three days running I ordered my coffee from them, and on the fourth, the young lady taking my order knew what I wanted and how I like it. Coffees are 3.50 and 4.00, if you pick up a loyalty card every tenth is free. Order at the counter and they bring to your table. There is a whole world of choice in regards to cakes and slices, it would be a rare child that won't find something to eat (although all the food is in the one case, so I imagine gluten free probably isn't an option)

A beautiful, colourful shop with lots of Indian look homewares and clothing, it's lovely to see shops like this here in Hobart. They have a loyalty club, but just as a heads up, they do seem to have 50% off storewide regularly - you'd be silly to pay full price for anything they have large amounts of.

This is a very hard shop to walk past - very reasonably priced, sparkly necklaces and earrings, a small range of gorgeous clothes and smatterings of homewares - if you have female friends to shop for, you are absolutely guaranteed to find the perfect something for them here. The staff are delightful too, and will giftwrap if you smile sweetly at them :)

This review is for Three Little Ducks, Bellerive TAS

verified email - 12 Sep 2013

We've now had several breakfasts and one dinner at TLD, and frankly, I can't rate it highly enough - it's so nice to have a restaurant that makes proper use of the space and lets you actually see the beautiful view of the Bellerive waterfront too.
I've had the full duck breakfast and the hippy (vego) breakfast and loved both of them. Dinner has been lovely, the stand out was the flathead and chips, so much to eat and perfectly cooked. We are yet to come across any staff who are anything other than perfectly welcoming. We've not made it to dessert once, but one day...
Love the chocolate that comes out with the coffee too - it's touches like that which make it an experience rather than just a meal.
Seriously, try them. You won't be disappointed.
