My review is for Organics by La Manna at 399 Sydney Road. Always courteous and friendly service. Excellent stock of both organic fruit+veg. & many other organic grocery and cleaning products. Plenty of gluten-free options. Will reserve your favourite bread for you to collect. As you would expect, organic produce is likely to be more expensive for greengrocery there than in the main La Manna shop but willing refund if you are ever disappointed with the quality.

Andrea took an amazing amount of trouble to get my passport photo looking just right - not an easy task as I am not the least photogenic. Yet the charge was only $20. Strongly recommended.

I use to shop regularly here as they stock my favourite bread and sheep's milk yoghurt. But they gradually disappointed me to the extent that I now go elsewhere for these 2 regular buys, even though they cost a little more. At first it was just small things: staff turning over too frequently, rather loud music, too frequent shelving changes etc. But then they stopped offering the 30% off discount on small quantities of fruit & veg. that were slightly past their peak, and there were muddles over my bread order. I still do there for bulk 'bring your own container' products, including dish-washing and laundry liquid and sea salt, and for 'bran' for my Bokashi system (I know nowhere else locally for these), but now that I am no longer a regular customer I find the service more variable and even unfriendly than before. In great contrast to the organic branch of La Manna which has all I want on a regular basis and super helpful, responsive and friendly service.

March 2016: I scarcely ever go there now. They no longer have the Bokashi 'bran' or bulk cleaning vinegar.

My hot water tank was not heating. I didn't know whether the problem was electrical or a plumbing problem. Turned out to be the former, but my tank was a non-compliant installation. Cost would be as much to bring it up to code as to install a new tank. To get access the gas stove also had to be moved out. Ali was an excellent communicator and very aware that the cost was far more than I'd been anticipating, so he gave me a reduced price as a pensioner. I was very impressed by the way the whole job was done, including clean-up, removal of old tank and all packaging. Now I have a guaranteed appliance with a compliance certificate.
