Porgie and Mr Jones is a quiet unassuming cafe - you dont think much by looking at it. in fact i have driven past it 1000 times and not even thought twice. This is an uncovered diamond sitting in the rough bit of the auburn road shops. It is near the riversdale pub - not the glam end of auburn road. the service is a little slow, but the ambience, the food and especially the coffee are totally worth the wait. Hats off to porgie and mr jones!! i'll be back - most weekends.

the transformation from old pub to modern asian restaurant is interesting. The food was very good, it came very quickly, and was clearly fresh. However, getting the bill proved to be very difficult and our waitress forgot about us after delivering the last dish.
Approximate cost: $30 each
Cheaper and fresher than sushi sushi, you cant go past Yuri Sushi house. Great seating avail in the window to watch the passing parade too.
Hand rolls are cheaper than most and food is freshly made everyday.
Approximate cost: $2.20 per roll
The restaurant isnt busy so you get your meals quickly. the menu doesnt describe items clearly enough. It needs re-working. Sushi platters are very expensive, noodle dishes lack any partiular flavour but are the cheapest option on the menu. Staff are friendly and you get a cool mint on the way out.
Approximate cost: $22.00
Really long, really expensive, really disheartening. I had one perm rinse and a hair cut. it took 3.5 hours and i was left at the basin for 30 minutes with wet cold hair. They forgot my name again and again and i was confised for another customer at one stage. Unbelievable that after all that, i was charged $220.00 for what could have taken one hour. Wont be back and wont recommend to anyone.
