This review is for Mr Negotiator

verified email - 04 Feb 2009

At the start of the year I was looking to purchase a new Honda Accord Euro. While looking for information on the web I came across the Mr Negotiator website. From the testimonials and info on the site I was impressed. I emailed them with the details of the car I wanted and they commenced negotiating with dealers on my behalf. The gentleman who looked after me wasn't pushy and didn't try to force me into a sale, and they did also offer a full tank of fuel and free car mats. All of this was very good, until I started doing some of my own ringing around car dealers. The promise on the website of "We guarantee that we will beat your price," turned out to be an empty one. During our last conversation the representative for Mr Negotiator said that I 'won't do better than this price, I do this every day and this is the absolute lowest you can get this car.' I don't consider myself to be a master negotiator by any stretch of the imagination but I was still able to get the car I wanted for $1310 LESS than Mr Negotiator's best offer. Car mats and a tank of premium fuel may be good, but they are not worth $1300!

My wife and I rented our first property through this real estate. It was a nice little granny flat in Prestons, and although the owners themselves were lovely, no really, you would be hard pressed to find nicer people, the service of the Real Estate left much to be desired. Upon attempting to inspect the property my wife and I had organized a viewing during our lunch breaks (we are both working full time) and the agent was 45mins late for that appointment, which as you could imagine was inconsiderate to say the least. Once we had settled in to the property and inspection time came around, the inspection notice was given and then the agent proceeded to cancel the inspection without notifying us. We had to wait around all day for an appointment that had been cancelled! We have since exited the property and when we gave our three weeks notice we planned and to leave by the end of the first week of notice so that we could get the bond back early to pay to the next property. After three weeks we returned to give the owners a Christmas present at which point they asked us if we had given the keys back to the real estate. Turns out that even though we had returned them three weeks before hand, they sat on a desk not to be processed until my wife went and saw them to see what was going on. It is now five weeks since we have exited the property, and we are still awaiting our bond!

I have used Dedes for two major occasions, the firstly to propose to my wife and the for the wedding six months later. Con was excellent in helping me create the perfect evening for my proposal, giving us the best table and organizing flowers champagne etc. He took care of everything, all I had to do was eat and ask the question. The food their is fantastic, I particularly recommend the Salt and Pepper Calamari for an entree. They also have a good selection of fine wines which my wife really appreciated.
My boss who was a chef for many years also commented on the quality of the service and food.

I had to get my hair cut before my wedding day and as soon as I mentioned that they gave me a whole bunch of extras for free. I had a hair wash and dry, cut and shave all included. For a guy a wash at a hair dresser is not a usual experience. I went in expecting to be sharpened up a little for my wedding, what I got was the whole works and great service. I obviously wouldn't expect that kind of treatment every time, but it's service like that that keeps me going back.

The food was very good. Not like one of those places where the more you pay the less you get on your plate. We celebrated my mother-in-laws 60th and are going to have another of my friend's birthday there next Friday. I can't comment too much on the Ala Carte menu, but the set menu option we went with was very good. The staff were friendly and approachable, I was surprised to find a restaurant of such quality considering its hidden away location.

I was just googling tyres for my wife's car and I found this site. It was very helpful with reviews of different tyres from different vehicle owners. It gave ratings for different aspects of each tyre and also on what kind of vehicle the reviewer was driving. Once I had made a tyre selection local businesses in my area then put quotes in for my business. I had the tyre dealers coming to me to offer me the best deal, rather than me having to run around and look for it.
