This review is for ABC Reading Eggs, Leichhardt NSW

verified email - 23 Apr 2011

My 3 year old and 5 year old enjoy Reading Eggs, and constantly ask me to put it on for them. The games are aimed at just the right level, with the right level of repetition and length of time for each game. It's very cute and I hope it is a learning experience. Certainly good if your little ones want computer time and you want them to play something other than Mario Kart! The prices are a bit dear, and it annoys me that I need to pay twice for having two kids use it.

Approximate cost: $80 a year for one child, 50% of that to add another child

My very first nappy shopping experience was through The WeeWuns - very helpful, friendly service, great products, regular nappy prices, good postage. I certainly recommend them!

This review is for Bubblebubs, Jamboree Heights QLD

Lovely nappies, fitted my little girl perfectly and washed well. Unfortunately, they didn't last until the next child - but maybe that was a blessing in disguise because he is a different shape and they don't fit him at all. I loved BubbleBubs - very simple and fun and easy to use.

This review is for IKEA, Slacks Creek QLD

Yep, I'm another one who loves Ikea!
Going there is an adventure - wandering around all the beautiful displays and imagining how it could work (or not) in your own home. The place is like a maze, an awe-inspiring maze. You can't go there looking for one specific item, you'll never find it, but plan to go for the day and enjoy the adventure!

This review is for Underwater World, Mooloolaba QLD

I purchased season passes to Underwater World last year. The kids (aged 5 and 3) adore the place. They find the moving tunnel amazing, and can go around it quite a number of times. We all enjoy the seal show, and touch tanks (containing sea stars and sea cucumbers). I particularly enjoy the frog exhibits, and there are many little posters throughout Underwater World that give extra information about various creatures, coral, etc.
I do think the prices for entry are far too high. I would never go normally, nor would I encourage others to go there, unless they've picked up a shopper docket or discount coupon somewhere. They often have Adults-at-Childrens-Prices type deals - which brings entry down to a more reasonable price. I also think it is looking a bit dated, particularly outside! More new shows would provide more interest to those of us have have been a few times before.
Although I (and the kids) have enjoyed our season passes, I will not be renewing them. Good for a visit though (with a discount coupon)!

This review is for Blackboard Cafe Restaurant Catering, Kuluin QLD

Yummo! I sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a muffin while my daughter dances at the nearby dance school each week! Blackboard has great service - yes, I say it again since it is so rare - GREAT service. A nice, friendly atmosphere, comfy chairs, decent prices, good coffee and YUMMO food. They are tucked away a little, which provides a bit of privacy, but I suspect their clientele will grow and grow! I highly recommend Blackboard!

This review is for Bloomhill Op Shop, Buderim QLD

verified email - 23 Apr 2011

I love op-shopping, and Bloomhill is one of those hidden gems. It's not a huge shop, but they often have good quality items. The volunteers are usually helpful, and do tend to arrange the shop in an easy-to-access, good looking way. The kitchenware, tea clothes, etc is usually the best part of the shop. I wouldn't recommend it for kids clothing, only because the range is quite small and there are better op shops on the coast for that.

Definitely worth a peek next time you are in Buderim - you never know what you may find!

This review is for The Itti Bitti Nappy Co Online Store, Aberglasslyn NSW

Fast shipping, nappies are lovely and quite absorbent. These are very popular nappies and it is obvious why! They are very trim and easy to put on and wash, etc. My only downside is that they used a lot of man-made fibres, and for my little girl, after about 6 months of use she started to react to them. I ended up needing to change her to bamboo and hemp nappies. BUT, my son wears itts a lot and no problems. They are FANTASTIC for under small clothing!

This review is for Sizzler, Maroochydore QLD

verified email - 23 Apr 2011

I have been to Sizzler, Maroochydore 10 plus times over the last two years.
The staff are ok (usually). The food is ok (usually). The prices are pretty good. Obviously they're not the best restaurant around, but they are a good place to take kids because kids LOVE to choose exactly what they'll eat. I think the food quality can be a bit iffy - just because if they are busy, there is a big turnover on the food and everything is very fresh, but go on a quiet day, and things have been sitting a bit longer.
Service can be great, with lovely waitresses who will happily offer to grab high chairs and make sure your table is clean. But it can also be lousy, so you are left sitting after an hours meal with plates piled high over your table and the sense of having been completely ignored. Oh well - maybe it's all part of the fun.
I recommend this for a treat for kids especially - followed by a quick walk to cotton tree playground to burn off some calories!

Approximate cost: $17 for an Adult Salad Bar without drinks
