La Royale Patisserie is located on the Horsley Drive and offer some of the tastiest cakes, slices and italian style donuts in Sydney! My family and I love the Ricotta cake, delicious macaroons, cannoli, foccacias and my son loves their tasty sausage rolls and pies!

They have a great cake selection range, perfect for after dinner or any special occassion! Store is clean, dine in is available as well as take away. Staff are friendly and coffee is great here too!

Gia Hoi is a place my friend enjoys dining at , and I accompanied her here the other day! Located on busy Canley Vale Road , it doesn't take us long to find a table once inside. It's your typical run of the mill Vietnamese Restaurant, simple decor, self serve condiments like sauces and cutlery line each table and several staff on the floor, eagerly awaiting to take your order!

I order the pho with beef slices and beef balls for $11. It's a generous serve with lots of soup and meat , but find this time the noodles were lacking in comparison. My friend ordered the spicy bun bo hue which is a spicy noodle dish with beef shank, ox tail, congealed blood jelly, shallots, onions, bean shoots, basil etc and she thoroughly enjoyed, not my cup of tea though! She told me she loves the spicy, sour , saltiness and sweet flavours all balanced in the noodle dish!

Whilst we were eating, I noticed a male waiter standing at the counter picking his nose, it out me off my food indeed! Won't be returning here in awhile anytime soon!

This review is for Pho 54, Cabramatta NSW

It's been awhile since I've eaten at Pho 54 but decided to come eat here over the weekend. Not much has changed at all really, decor is simple, place is small and often packed on the weekends but the pho is tasty!

They have different variations of Pho available here, whether it be beef, with tendons, tripe etc but I just love the Pho Tai With sliced eye fillet for $9 a bowl. It doesn't take long after you order and your piping bowl of hot pho arrives at the table. Lots of fresh sliced eye fillet, plenty of rice noodles and make sure you push your eye fillet into the soup to help finish off the cooking. Add bean shoots, mint and chiili and mix together and enjoy! I always find a bowl of pho warms the soul!

Service is pretty basic here - they just come to the table, take your order and bring it out once it's ready! Food is great here too and there are some rice options on the menu but just come for the Pho!

Sometimes you don't feel like eating meat and when your here you think your eating " meat" when in fact it's all vegetarian food, cleverly disguised as meat! The menu is extensive, with lots of dishes under $13. Makes for a cheap lunch!

They have all day yum cha here with noodles, siu mai ( pork dim sims) etc but they use mushrooms, vegies and tofu which still tastes delicous! The Yum Cha doesn't come out on trolleys like most places your accustomed to, you just need to order it.

I love the " banh cuon" which is very similar tasting to my Mum's but with meat substitutes of course. It's a rice noodle dish which uses Vietnamese pork (devon), herbs and comes served with a dipping sauce you pour over the top and enjoy and all for $12.50. The King fish and lemongrass and the steamboat my Mum says are good here too!

But I came for the bun bo hue (Spicy beef noodle soup) which tastes flavoursome and the broth is amazing. I also recommend the salted crispy tofu, another fave of mine!

Nothing beats ramen when the weather is looking drab and wet like it was a few weeks ago!

This Japanese Restaurant is located about 5 minutes walk from Ashfield Station and relatively easy to find. There is fresh sushi, ramen, gyoza and agadashi tofu and my fave karage chicken and also great bento boxes etc.

I ordered the Ramen with pork soup base for $12 and was suprised at how much flavour that the ramen packed. The pork bone broth was tasty and hit the right spot! The pork, shallots, soft boiled egg which had the gooey centre inside still, corn, bean sprouts, mushrooms (funghi) etc all went well together. Was rich and warming!
The ramen come in your choice of soup base stocks - either pork or chicken and the pork base I tried was delicious!

I was satisfied and would definitely come here again!

This review is for Memphis Wings, Casula NSW

After much hype from hearing about this place from some friends we decided to take the plunge and dined here last night with some friends. Our booking was for 6.30pm ( you need to make reservations if dining after 5pm) and we arrived early. We were initially seated inside but we asked to change tables, the waitress happily obliged and moved us outside under the awning whilst the kids played at the mini playground they had outside, whilst we waited for friends to arrive.

Memphis Wings is basically your American " Tex Mex " experience of southern style American BBQ food consisting of ribs, subs, burgers, phiily cheese steak, quesadillas, fajitas, soft tacos, salads and buffalo wings etc. They also offer american soda drinks and some mexican bottled drinks.

After having a long and undecisive scan of the menu, we went inside to the counter to order. As you go inside there is a huge menu to the left hand side to help you order from. We opted for the memphis pulled pork sub $8.50 and one with a combo of curly fries, side of coleslaw and a can of drink for $14, bacon cheese and mushroom buger combo for $14, half rack of beef ribs for $16.95, half rack of baby back pork ribs for $19.95 and the 10pack of smokin bbq wings with curly fries for the kids to share. It didn't take long for the food to arrive at the table, which was good as we were all hungry!

Food comes served in red baskets with white and red checked paper, with food served inside. Quite American indeed! Our pulled pork rolls are slow cooked for 17 hours and smoked for 4 hours. We found it wasn't actually pulled pork at all but rather cubed pieces of pork which was tender and soft to eat. It was nice eating it with the cheese sauce and the long roll was soft and great to eat together. The beef rings were tender and my friend said his pork ribs were nice but in comparison, he preferred the ribs from Hurricanes in quality, taste and serving size. My other friend was disappointed in her bacon cheese mushroom burger and the meat inside was quite fatty and hard for her to actually eat. Both kids enjoyed the wings but found them very sticky.

Overall the experience was good. The kids and I enjoyed the food whilst my friends were disatisfied in their meals.

We haven't been to this Yum Cha place in awhile, but were here the other week visiting an old school friend who works nearby. This Yum Cha is located at the Top Level of the Picadilly Centre, just off George Street.

When we arrived it wasn't too busy and were seated straight away. They serve all our usual favourites like prawn and vegetable dumplings, steamed rice noodles with prawns, asian greens, and some different dim sims available as well such as " Chinese Donut" which is like a long oval shaped crunchy but soft inside fried bread roll. Both kids loved this, as it was soft to eat inside.

This Restaurant has a great range of different dim sim to choose from, great atmosphere but the food was abit more expensive then other Yum Cha Restaurants I have been too, but the quality is great and staff were quick in bringing extra forks and drinks with the kids. Will return!

It has been awhile since we have dined here, but this place never fails to deliver on having the crispiest chicken I have eaten. I usually have the chicken with the noodle soup but opted for the crispy chicken with tomato rice for $12 it comes with pickled cabbage and carrot and complimetary soup. The chicken skin is in fact really crispy and crunchy upon biting into it. And the flesh is moist and juicy, not dry at all!

There is usually always a wait but I try and come before lunch time rush hour and always find a table, order and can enjoy my lunch without too many diners inside.

Great value lunch in Cabramatta! Winner, winner!

This review is for Ling's Asian Grocery, Fairfield NSW

verified email - 07 Mar 2014

Ling's Asian Grocery is located right at the entrance to Fairfield Forum, just as you walk down from the car park. It's a small store packed full of asian groceries, food items, fresh asian greens and the occassional fruit and vegies. I often drop by here to grab some shallots and fresh herbs like coriander to use in my salads at home. They are usually 99c a bunch - bargain price!

Like most Asian grocery stores they are not known for service, but I don't mind. Just get in and grab the items I need, and exit quickly. Can't be quite cramped to enter or exit if they have a few customers instore as well.

This review is for N2 Extreme Gelato, Sydney NSW

There are so many gelato, ice - creamery and sorbet joints popping up all over Sydney at the moment. But you must come and check out N2 Gelato., it's basically an ice- cream parlous with a difference! You have a quirky science lab novelty with " scientists" who make your order from scratch with fresh ingredients, that are all mixed with liquid nitrogen until it's frozen! It's all set up like your in an actual science lab complete with stainless counter tops, beakers and flasks! The staff are cute with their nerdy glasses and science lab coats, all hard at work.

It is amazing to watch! Just mind blowing that liquid nitrogen does that to ice- cream, well worth the experience! My kids were amazed, as was I! All scoops are $6 so we got peppermint choc chip, avocado and mint and good ol' chocolate! The serving size was massive and I had to help the kids finish some of their ice- cream, it tasted rich and amazing! Would definitely come again... the concept is amazing!
