The year before last the wife and I went and spent the day at the Port Arthur Historic Site. As it was getting late and we were too tired to go driving around looking for a restaurant, we took a chance with the onsite bistro thinking it couldn't be any worse than a pub meal.

How wrong we were! As soon as the food arrived we knew it was something special. I ordered the Red Lentil open burger and it was beyond divine, easily the best non-meat burger I had ever had in my life and I know my gourmet burgers! It didn't taste pasty, it was just pure delightful and complex savoury flavours that didn't leave me longing for meat.

My wife had a white wine and cheese risotto that was so smooth and incredibly rich in depth of flavour and texture. Please note this was their summer menu and they do change it regularly.

Nevertheless, I'm certain anything you order there will be of high quality using fantastic Tasmanian produce and decent bistro prices.

So when you visit, don't overlook the bistro, you won't be disappointed!

I love the Pizza Bar. When I first moved into the area, i tried a number of different places and ended up settling on this one.

Free delivery plus awesome deals no matter what night of the week. Two Family sized pizzas for $24 is unbeatable. The ingredients are pretty good too, far better than the larger chain stores.

The other convenience is online ordering, their website is easy to use and accurate and gives you the option of paying by card or cash when they arrive. 99% of the time, the pizza arrives 5 minutes before the estimated time given.

Last week, I tried their gourmet menu as I was tired of being overcharged by another chain store that specialises in gourmet pizzas, and I have to say the quality was definitely on par plus the pizza's are larger.

Once I had to go in on a busy saturday night and the guys there got it out in no time even commenting that they hadn't forgotten about me when they saw the look of surprise on my face at their promptness.

Well done to the guys at The Pizza Bar, great pizza and service - don't ever change guys!

Complete one stop shop for all aquarium needs. Loads of equipment, fish stock (freshwater & marine). Large selection of plants and aquascaping. Decent coldwater section. Amazing tanks on display. I agree though that their service could be better, some of the guys in the back can seem a little unapproachable at times.
