Went in to get some lunch here on a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to see they have a $10 lunch special Mon - fri. And was even more pleased with the quality of the food. I got battered barramundi and chips and it was delicious. My partner got the steak which was ordered med/rare which came out more medium - still however said it was delicious. The bar man was really friendly and very helpful with giving us a table downstairs to accommodate the pram - even though this area is not usually for food.
Was amazed at the cheapness of drinks, you can get a jug of Tiger beer for $10 !

Always go here for breakfast whenever I am in Canberra. The Eggs benedict is really good.
Good location in the city also, and is always busy - but always seem to fit you in somewhere. And the staff are always on top of things.
Coffee is really good as well.

Every time I go here I cant go past the vegetarian lasagne. It is so good. Good coffee too!

I was here with family a few months ago and while it is very pretty and the food looks great - the service was horrible. We ordered coffee and cakes, and we had drank and finished our coffee for about 20 mins with still no sign of the cakes. After complaining and telling the manager not to worry about the cakes as we had somewhere to be, the manager was unapologetic and still charged for the cakes, We paid and did not realise and after going back for a refund the staff member was quite rude.

Happy's is in the heart of the CBD - A very good location. Not great if you are with someone in a wheelchair or have a stroller though as you have to go down 2 flights of stairs.
The decor needs a bit of work, as it looks dated and old.
However, the food is great and very well priced. They are great with larger bookings also. I do recommend booking ahead though as it can get quite busy.

Use to love to go here with family and friends. Great for kids birthdays and the staff are accommodating for larger groups.
It can get expensive with larger groups. Staff are great with helping kids who have crashed into the tyres.

Pretty well priced in a good location! A great place to go with friends to relax in the city.
Cool décor as well - out of town guests were really impressed. Value for money on drinks as well.

This is a really cool thing to do in Melbourne in the Summer, there's blankets too if it gets a little chilly!

A MUST pit-stop between Canberra and Sydney. Great strong coffee and the pies are amazing. Lots of choice of cakes. Always expect a long queue in this place though!

The food here is HUGE. Even the kids food is very big. But it is still very tasty and a cheap feed for a family. Always seems to be busy and would recommend booking ahead especially for a family. Service is always fine, never bad but what you would expect. Parking on the street is not great but there is a large carpark under the plaza close by which is free.
