Just walked into the veggie store and bought some veggies, paid for it, and realised that it was a tiny bit more than usual. Upon checking the receipt, the small bucket quantity were per kilo prices, so I told the owner that I needed to return a few items as it was an honest mistake, and I didn't realize the prices were per kilos, not per the quantity in the bucket. The owner seemed very agitated at us that we needed to return and that they were busy, and we had to wait for the rest of the customers to be served, which we were fine with. Then he started yelling at us, saying, 'Go on, take out the items and give them to the lady who served us,' while the lady was in the middle of serving. I told him we are happy to wait as long as it takes, but the yelling was unnecessary. He yelled, 'Don't process the return,' and they picked the items and paid for them, so it’s done .

My wife and I were shocked, to say the least, and now wanted to return everything after witnessing the owner of the shop yell at paying customers who decided to come to the shop out of their area. We weren't going to leave without being able to leave; the lady refused to refund the money, and we were waiting on the side to get a refund.

The owner had calmed down a bit and said that we needed to wait and show the items, which we were happy to comply with, as we understood and told the owners to begin with. After waiting there for a few minutes and not choosing to leave, someone else came out and said, 'I apologize and will process the refund in cash,' and took the items back. However, this will be the last time we will shop there.

I know he won't have to close the shop because of us, or his business would be impacted in any way. However, in this day and age of social media and service, he clearly doesn't understand the importance of basic customer service and decency. For that reason, we won't go there to shop.
