Fantastic food and fantastic staff- thats what it comes down to at Irori. The restaurant is always busy with tables that take two people to the larger ones of about ten. Every meal here is consistently great and the takeaway Bento boxes are a great meal if you don't feel like eating out. Its easy to call up and order over the phone, and they will even let you make small changes to the Bento box if requested. The gyoza and miso steak are the standouts on the menu and I always order both to go with my meal.

The food here is fantastic! The grilled flake is always fresh and they do incredible Dim Sums. Sometimes they food can take a little bit of time (20 minutes or more) but if you call up and order or take a walk around martin street the wait is always worth it. It is clean, tasty and overall a great place to go to grab a bite to eat.

The Cats Conservatory is simply amazing. We tried them out for the first time with our 3 cats last week and its safe to say that they all came back looking happy, well maintained and very relaxed. We have had previous experiences with a few other catteries in the area and never have our cats come back looking so good. The quality of care they received is above and beyond what we have ever experienced before and I know for certain that our three cats will be returning to the Cats Conservatory in the future.

We came as a group of 12 for a thursday night birthday dinner at 6:30pm. Despite coming early (and with a booking) the Newmarket filled up quickly, creating a nice and 'buzzy' atmosphere. The food was fast to arrive and easy to order, with the staff assisting in ordering tapas and share plates for the group. It was easy to find a staff member to take an order at any time and overall the experience was very easy but on the more up-market, expensive side.

Every meal here is a meal worth its price. However, I have found the staff to be slightly unwelcoming and there never seems to be enough people to go around. Despite this, they do amazing eggs, coffee and particularly chia (which is hand made on site!). So, if you're happy to pay a little bit extra then Merchants Guild is always a great option.

If you are in a rush, don't bother. Not only are the staff rude and unhelpful, they are also incredibly slow. On more than two occasions I have found myself standing in a queue of up to 5 people with one staff member working at the check out. After a short glance around it became clear to me that they are both under-staffed and not 'on the ball'. So, if you're in a rush or just want to quickly get a couch pillow (as I did), go somewhere else or don't bother at all because you'll just waste your time waiting to be served by unhappy and rude staff.
