This is a very dark and dingy supermarket. The Safeway in Lilydale is much cleaner. The car park is a bit cramped too, and awkward to get into. Sorry, I can't think of anything nice to say about this supermarket.

If I ever need to interact with someone at a post office, I try to make sure it's at the Mooroolbark Post Office as their service is exceptional...very polite and efficient. There's rarely much of a wait in line, as opposed to the Chirnside Park Post Office, where the line snakes throughout the store and sometimes even outside the store, and their staff is often rude and their service abysmal in comparison.

Prices are reasonable. For a florist, they don't seem to have many flowers though. They do have quite a bit of decorative knick-knacks and such. I just expected them to have more flowers, and more variety. What flowers they do have do seem quite fresh.

This review is for IGA, Mooroolbark VIC

I've lived in Mooroolbark for a few years now, and only just ventured into the IGA for the first time a few weeks ago. Ok, it isn't the prettiest supermarket, but what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in service and prices. I've never been through a checkout in faster time than when shopping here. Plus it's with a smile! Being a smaller supermarket than say Coles, they don't offer a huge range in variety, but I would guess that you will be able to find 75% of the exact same products you normally buy at a Coles or Safeway, just cheaper. Plus the parking is much easier than Mooroolbark Coles.

Their chips were horrible...I literally felt ill after eating some. Everything is way overpriced. I suspect they won't be in business for long, which is a shame, as it's a nice-looking, new store.

Their food is good. Pepper Chicken is my fav. They've messed my order a couple of times in the past, including egg in fried rice, after I told them I don't want egg in it. Oh well. They can be a little expensive considering their smaller than average portions. They seem to have great business on Karioke nights.

This review is for Davina's Fish and Chips, Mooroolbark VIC

A couple of years ago, they were the best Fish 'n' Chip shop around. I think they've since had either 1 or 2 ownership changes, and now they're just average. Both the taste and service dropped with the new owners. It's a real shame. The last time I was there it sounded like they had mixed up a couple of telephone orders, as customers were coming back furious about getting wrong orders.

This review is for Sampe's Pizza, Mooroolbark VIC

verified email - 23 Feb 2009

It's been a while since I've been to Sampe's. I found their pizzas just average in taste and too high in price. They always had twice the number of staff than what they really needed, so that's probably why their prices were so high. The extra staff didn't result in quicker service. There's better pizza places out there, namely Fantastic Pizza which is in the same strip of shops as Sampe's, Terra Rossa Pizza on Paul Street, Mooroolbark and Remo's Italian Cuisine on Switchback in Chirnside Park.

Approximate cost: $10

This review is for KFC, Mooroolbark VIC

While I love KFC, I'd rather drive to the next closest KFC, than go back to the Mooroolbark KFC. I've had chicken from there that was raw in the middle...that's right RAWWW!!! And when the chicken is cooked, it usually has too much fat hanging off it. I've never had these problems at any other KFC, just the Mooroolbark one. Their service isn't very good either, as they seem to go into panic mode when they have more than 1 customer in line.

This review is for Pizza Lovers, Mooroolbark VIC

I think these guys have gone out of business. Walked past the other day, and it looked closed and pretty empty inside. I had pizza a few times from there in the past, and it was always poorly run. It was always only teenagers in there, it just seemed like they didn't care one bit, and wanted to be somewhere else. The only reason they stayed in business for as long as they did was because they had specials where you could get pizzas for $2.99. Great prices, but the pizzas were pretty tasteless. I guess they would have lost their customers to the other 2 pizza places (Sampes and Pizza Hut) in that strip of shops. Three Pizza places in one strip of shops was always going to be too many. Hopefully something different opens up in Pizza Lovers spot now.

Approximate cost: $2.99
