Great value, good service, average quality. Generally speaking, you won't find their items for sale cheaper anywhere else.

It's one of those supermarkets that is just plain average. The store itself is big, with wide aisles, but the stock is usually messed up on the shelves. The staff are neither rude nor friendly. I find I always have to wait at least a few minutes in line whether I have just a couple of items and am going through the express lane, or have a full trolley and am going through a regular checkout lane. It would be nice if they had more cashiers, and staff to tidy the shelves a bit. I've witnessed a bit of anti-social behavior from customers at this store, and get the feeling that it isn't a very safe place to shop at times. It would be great if they could hire a security guard because I'm sure a guard's presence would nullify much of the shouting, arguing and fighting that I've seen around this store.

I had not been to a dentist for a long time, and was nervous going in, but am so glad I did. Dr. Geoffrey Burge and his assistant were very reassuring, worked well together and definitely knew what they were doing. And because the dentistry is associated with Medibank Private, the service ended up being fully covered. I couldn't be happier, and I'll be making visits to the dentist more regularly from now on, to make sure I keep my teeth well looked after. My only regret is not going sooner.

Approximate cost: $0. Service was fully covered by Medibank Private.

They have quite a huge selection of magazines. We had a newspaper home delivered through this agency, but had to cancel it after a few weeks. The paper would be left on the sidewalk, on the road, around the corner, on the other side of the fence, basically anywhere other than on our property. Sometimes it would take us several minutes to locate it, and there were times that it just wasn't delivered at all.

Their in-store service is poor, and would be better if they moved the slow main cashier to one of the tatts checkouts, and instead man the main checkout with one of the faster cashiers. It's fine that the slow cashier is friendly and likes to chat to all of the locals, but when there's a line of customers waiting, that's just not acceptable. It always takes 3 or 4 times longer to checkout than what is necessary.

My last visit, I was overcharged by 40% on a magazine that I regularly buy, despite my pointing out the advertised price. I was given a nasty and arrogant response, and was forced to pay the inflated price. This shocking service prompted me to order the subscription online. Now I save nearly 50% off the newsagency's inflated price plus I get the magazine delivered 2 days earlier (Mondays) than when it was available from the newsagency (Wednesdays) and I don't have to tolerate the newsagency's shockingly bad service.

Approximate cost: $too much

If you were to choose 10 random products, and compare their prices at the local Coles, Foodworks and IGA, then IGA would always come out the most expensive. They also charge 5c for plastic bags, but at least the money raised is donated to the local hospital. I'd really love to support my locally owned IGA store, but why should I do all of my shopping there if it means it'll cost me 10 to 40% more money than what I would at Coles?

Their service is fairly fast, and generally friendly, but there's rarely a smile. The staff usually seem pretty stressed out for some reason, and that comes across with their customer service.

Coles and FoodWorks are less than 2kms away, and they have more variety, have more spacious shopping aisles and are cheaper, so the only reason to go to IGA is to buy something they happen to have on sale.

Approximate cost: $10 - 40% more than Coles and Foodworks

I've only been in there a few times, but they are always very quick and pleasant to work with. They never have long queues like many PO's do.

I've only been there the once. It was empty, and the cashier was pushing me to order straight away, before I had a chance to look at their menu. Feeling pressured, I just ordered some chips. She just went out back, and scooped up some chips that were just sitting there, instead of cooking some fresh. She came back 10 seconds later with a tiny box of chips. By tiny, I mean smaller than my fist. $3.15 for maybe 15 to 20 chips. I know why there were no other customers now.

They did a quick check and fix on my laptop that wasn't charging up. Price was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Shhh...don't tell anyone. We want to keep this place our little secret.

The place oozes charm, and both the food and coffee are delightful. The staff are always polite and cheerful. You can't help but leave happier for having experienced what they have to offer. I've not come across another cafe like it.

Seems to be the type of place that the tourists go to, but the locals avoid.

They are quite expensive, while their food is very average. I can't comment on the coffee. Their service is also very average, and two out of the three times I've been there I've been given the wrong food. The last time I went there I asked for a vegetarian pastie, and ended up taking a big bite out of a MEAT pastie. That was the last straw for me, so I won't be going back there again.

There's better bakeries in Bacchus Marsh, and they all have better service and are cheaper than The Jolly Miller.
