I recently had a meal here with my husband after a two week stint of going meat free. We had had a lovely steak meal here a few months ago after a MSO concert, and it was spot on, so decided to come back and try some other things.

My husband and I both ordered entree's. I ordered the pork belly, and my husband had the scallops - both were delicious.
For mains, we both went the eye fillets, which came on a bed of creamy olive oil mash and sauteed spinach leaves. Steak was sensational - just like last time. Amazing char-grilled flavours all the way through. Shared a iceberg, pear and blue cheese salad. Also really lovely.

For dessert, we shared an amazing chocolate fondant and a banana creme brule. Both were sensational and I highly recommend.

We will be back! Not just the food was great hear, but the outdoor seating (even in winter) was comfortable and offers great views of the Melbourne CBD. It is fun to sit and watch people too. The heaters outside made this just like being inside, but with fresh air and a great lively vibe.

Our experience at Waterfront was lovely. There was a festive buzz in the air with a guitarist busker playing music out on the promenade. The restaurant was extremely busy but our waiter saw to us very promptly and we were surprised at how quickly our meals and drinks arrived, each course.

I had a Mamasita cocktail, delicious!! We enjoyed our Crystal Bay prawns entree and our ribs were amazing!

For dessert, my son had a trio of sorbets, nothing special to be honest. Presentation was a bit ordinary and the flavours were bland.

My dessert of banana creme brulee was excellent though I asked to substitute the chocolate chip ice cream with the 'golden gaytime' ice cream. Didn't taste anything like a golden gaytime, but the brulee was magnificent!

Our waiter was efficient, prompt and pleasant.

Totally enjoyed our visit to Waterfront and recommend it for riverside dining.

I made a reservation for dinner (8pm) , I arrived 7.50pm (arrived a bit early) so they directed me and my family to sit at the bar (have pre drinks) because our table is not ready yet. (acceptable) Then we waited over 30 minutes to get our table (unacceptable).. then we waited again - in total we waited for about 40 minutes. Very disappointed with the service and in-organised with the booking schedule. especially this restaurant is classified as fine dining restaurant.

Then, finally we got out table and ordered our food straight away because we were starving. and it took around 30 mins for the food to arrived to our table.. well, the food were just average nothing so special about it. i might not go back there again.

Approximate cost: $35
