I've only encountered handful of stores across all industries that i, as a customer/consumer, have experienced complete customers satifaction and this store is one of them.
What i mean is that i only stopped in here to kill time while waiting to catch a train to meet a lady friend (date). I thought i'd browse through their sunglass range. The only word i could think of was "wow", I was speechless with the variety of sunnies they had, ranging from low budget to hi-end designer pairs. The two salesmen were very helpful but not pushy. I straight away told them why i was there and they were happy for me to look and try on frames at my leisure. I was really impressed when Eugene (one of the salesmen) took some time to show or suggest certain styles or colours. He was attending after two other customers but showed enough curtousy to ensure me that if I needed anything, to ask him or his colleuges. He knew his profession and it showed cos the first pair of sunnies he brought over i kept comparing them with others i tried on. I ended up choosing the Prada Sunglasses he picked and this is the part where (I think) their customers are so at ease, I told them from the begining where i was going and that i didnt bring extra money. I dont own a credit card but they took down my details and put aside the sunglasses for me. I told them i had a slight blur in my right eye and immediately he suggested i have an eye exam. So they booked me in the following Thursday night, yes night at 6.30pm cos i study and work part time and it was a relief that the work after 5.00pm on Thursdays. Usually other places would ask for a deposit otherwise they would put the frame back on display. But they didn't they put them with my file. Needless to say i missed the train and my date didn't talk to me for days.
Before i left, Eugene explained that i could have these sunglasses with my prescription (as they call it) and withe the colour tint i wanted. Eugene couldn't give me an exact price because this was my first ever eye test and depending on my prescription and the types of lens that i chose, it could vary a bit.
I was prepairing myself for a big optical bill, but was very surprised with the total cost. I ended up having a small prescription and decided it was wise to have the numbers put on the lenses. I dont know how the did it but they took the original lenses out and put new ones in that made me see more clearly. They even matched the colours that i wanted.
So from not realising that i needed glasses for seeing far i found a retail store that prides itself on customer service and satisfaction. In the end it was a win win for everyone, my then girlfriend forgave me after i explained the whole story and told me she loved those sunnies on me and Riskin Optical gained a loyal customer for life.
That was 3yrs ago and every so often i would pop in to say hello or for minor servicing they always greeted me with a welcome smile.
I've also been into multi-million dollar franchises to see their range but their staff are more ineterested in their own discussions about their weekends or whose facebooking who. I walked one of these OPSM or should it be called OOPS cos it took about 7 minutes before a staff approached me. And the only reason one came over to ask if i needed anything cos their manager had just came back from lunch.
This is the diference with the "big boys" and the family run store. So in conclusion I highly recommend Riskin Optical to anyone who lives in the surrounding areas to give them a chance, you'd be extremely surprised by your experience and the experienced staff. Their staff really know their profession and they go that extra step to ensure you walk away happy.

I managed to walk in here by accident to have a look at some frames. It's generally very hard for me to pick frames and a lot of optical shop I visit tell me "No" to most of my frame choices mainly for the reasons that my prescription is not suitable. Well these guys changed my perspective... I heard more "Yes"s and decided to give them a go. The result was outstanding. They have very knowledgeable staff and use latest technology lenses. From what I was told they only deal with a French lens manufacturer, unlike most other places these days that get everything from China. And the prices are still cheaper then most other places. The optometrist was great too and I was pleased to be reassured that even after my purchase, the customer service continues. When I needed further adjustments I comfortably came in and was served with a smile, unlike my previous optom that looked like he was doing me a favour. Highly Recommend!

Very good service here, they always take care of me. The glasses and sunglases range is good - not the biggest I have ever seen, but lots of really nice designer glasses. Most of the people I know end up finding the glasses for them here. I have tried lots of bigger optometrists (e.g. speksavers) but despite the choices, they don't have good quality options. The optometrist here is very very thorough. I'm not sure that he's the best, but he is adamant that you come back and check and double check that everythign is a perfect fit (glasses and contacts). They bulk bill here which is good, but seeing as they're not a chain, they don't seem to have those commercial deals like 2 pairs of glasses for $100. Nevetheless good QUALITY is guaranteed here. They also repair glasses on the spot and they've always got it spot on for me.
