I read so many things about this great man, I wanted to meet him in person. After being shown to a seat, Phillip Came and sat next me, I must say my heart was running fast as I open my mouth and blathered

What would you say has been the most challenging part of your career and how did you overcome any obstacles?
Phillip Smiled at me and said

I would say performing on live TV doing full makeovers in less than 30-60 minutes was a challenge. I learnt very quickly to adapt to situations such as these and assess what is required. So I might not be able to do my best technical haircut in that short time but so long as the finished result is a great transformation and has good balance and suits the persons face shape, your job is done. I would then do any tweaking required after the show when I can take my time

What are some common misconceptions people have about hairdressing and how would you respond to them?
Hairdressing can be seen as an easy career option and also low paid – Categorically not true! It is like any other profession where if you excel in what you do the rewards are high.
What advice would you give to people wanting to pursue a career as a hairdresser?
Hairdressing is a ‘creative calling’ so if you feel drawn to the craft the chances are you will be good. Hard work and commitment pays off so always demonstrate passion and most importantly, remember you get out of life what you put in.

the Salon is very clean and i watched Phillip Create magic and he cut a clients hair, the way the scissors moved i have never seen a cutting method so wild, so unique and the end results where sure magic
he charged the client $50 for a wild dry cut.

Like other reviewer on here, I too am a North American transplant now living in Bryon Bay. After several years of growing dependent on my colourist in New York, I feared 'starting over' with a new salon.

When in doubt, Yelp is always my go-to resource for these kind of things. The reviews on here for Phillip Michael’s sold me, and I was able to book a same-day cut/colour appointment with Phillip. I'm a natural blonde, but wanted to go more platinum with highlights without looking like... Barbie. I know it's a delicate line, and can't say enough about happy I was with both Phillip and Bill and the outcome.

Before starting, Phillip took one look at my hair, knew it was fine/a bit dry, and asked about the products I use. When I told him r one of them was a lightening spray, he went out of her way to make sure that the colour product wouldn't have an adverse effect on my hair (and when I say out of his way, I mean: he took a small strand of my hair, highlighted it and confirmed it to be safe).

The colour was extraordinary - EXACTLY what I asked for and very natural - and the cut was quick and effortless. You can tell he really listens to what customers ask and is experienced enough to deliver just that. On top of that, he’s easy to talk to - and when you're in it for the long haul appointment, that's a bonus. And there was no other clients booked in, your time is your time slot, that why you pay that little extra, but it is worth it, as you sit and chat and really get to know, this famous hairdresser, I say go the extra mile, see him I drive every 12 weeks now for him to cut and colour my hair, cost $250.00 every 3 months, Phillip still says every 6 months would be cool, but i can’t go that long

PHILLIP MICHAEL'S is the best hairdresser going, I love the father and son deal, as everything I required they both sat down with me and over, a pot of tea and snack my creation took place (I use the online scheduling feature on their website). The prices are amazing, the salon is always kept pristine, and very professional and great at what they do.

My hair is naturally pretty thin so I'm really particular about my cut and highlighting- Phillip and bill gave me a completely new cut and style and it is the best my hair has ever looked! Phillip is a Master hairdresser, He holds a PhD in hairdressing, and degrees in colouring and is by far the best hair stylist I have ever had IN MY LIFE and I will never let anyone but him touch my hair, they have 2 doggies summer is so lovely she like smacko and she makes a fuss of you, then there big boy snowy who looks like a biker when he walks and he has the proud look about himself saying come on play with me go on go on you know you want to, so I am just going to say get to Phillip Michael's 62 Molesworth Street Lismore 2480 call them 02 6622 6986

if it lunch time you get served a wonderful glass of wine red or white in a wonderful cut crystal Waterford glass

even when having a cuppa you get it served on a tray tea cup saucer tea pot snacks on side its just a wonderful place you have Phillip to your self for a full 90 minutes as he never books clients around you, he stated you pay $90 so you get my full attention for 90 minutes

and I must say after he finishes his masterpiece on you, he then tells you to put this cream on your hands and rub it into your hands then rub it into your hair, and really mess your hair up and boy oh boy I messed my hair up and it looked wonderful a master piece, and I am writing this review 7 days after my cut and when I wash it and towel dry then air dry it falls as if I just came out of Phillip Michael's Salon

When I move to a new city I always get a bit anxious about finding a new hairdresser. It seems like as soon as I find one I'm comfortable with I move again! But the first hairdresser I tried in Lismore was Phillip Michael's, and I think I hit the nail on the head, so to speak. Phillip Now's owns the salon in Molesworth street, and it is very posh up market, but the price's are still affordable which I love
With long thick hair and a penchant for keeping my blonde highlights topped up, I have come to accept that any time I go to the hairdressers it's going to cost me a pretty penny or two. And after trying to skimp on cost by going to some cheaper salons in my time, I've also come to accept that you get what you pay for.

That's why I don't mind paying an extra few bucks to sit at ease in my chair in Phillip Michael's rather than fretting and constantly checking the mirror in a crappy supermarket salon.
Everyone wants something different from their hairdresser - some like the listen and do type, others like them to have their own ideas. I personally prefer the listening type. I don't mind helpful suggestions but I hate when they take it upon themselves to cut you a fringe when you didn't ask for one, or worse still, lecture you about using straighteners. the team being a father & son and doggie listened to what I want, stuck to the colours I chose, and cut exactly as many inches as I asked them to cut.
both boy's are wonderful colourist and cutting Phillip is the master, with loads of Degree's after his name If you like foils chat to Phillip about YING YANGS t is great and no one else can do it world wide as it is his own method, I tried watching him, but it just looks a mess till it is totally finished

once you walk into the salon, there is a wonderful try lace in front of you tea pot cup saucer biscuits snack chocs and then as you relax you get a full consultation carried out and your hair is cut dry o style then finished off later

it's very dog friendly Phillip has 2 dogs in the salon I love summer she 13 yo but lovely snowie is cheeky at 6 month of age, I got kisses when he jumped on my lap while my hair was being washed, if you don't like dogs bill takes the younger one out as summer just lays there

Nice salon, good location. The stylist who did my hair was very good. I could tell he was very experienced and knew what would suit me. The salon staff were friendly and professional and I had a nice head massage from bill. My new cut and colour. I went into see Phillip Michael’s with drab light brown hair and left with lovely golden blonde hair. Everyone says how much it suits me and I’m loving the new look. I only wanted a trim and I’m happy Phillip Michael’s listened and did not cut too much off. The salon is nice and friendly. Good service from the moment I walked in. both Phillip and his son bill was really genuine and fun to talk to. The prices are expensive but in my opinion, you get what you pay for. Have been recommending to everyone since!\ had a wonderful tray of goodies bone china tea cup saucer pot of tea with snacks

phillip I just wanted to say how nice it was and how lovely I was treated today for coming in for just a fringe cut and for you fitting me into what looked like an incredibly busy day. I have to say the new salon is so lovely and just made a lovely impression from the moment I stepped through the door, I even enjoyed the cappuccino even though the service was quite inexpensive, I actually felt guilty. I wouldn’t have taken it normally but being so dog tired from a stressful few days with little sleep I sooooo needed it and was very grateful for the offer. As usual I loved my cut (as always) I walked out with exactly the look I was after, and 6 hours later it still looks just as good. I had a really great time today and felt like a million dollars from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. I have to say your dog summer is so cute I loved her to bits

he has done many famous people in England and I feel so wonderful when he gets my hair just right

he holds degree in hairdressing, and he so alive and sick there nothing he doesn't know, I shiver when he starts cutting as it is so unique and it like watching an master piece being done as he stands back and looks at every angle and the final piece is when you get to fully mess it up and shake it and see how it falls into place ladies go see him

phillip Michael's of Mayfair is an amazing hidden secret in Lismore at 62 Molesworth street .when you see it you think it is a jewellery store from the window, but inside it is a wonderful 5star salon Phillip is welcoming, friendly and has a wealth of experience, which he has brought to Lismore in his new salon business. Phillip is patient, trustworthy, and always makes his clients feel number 1 through creating stunning looks. I love how he genuinely loves the looks he creates so every client leaves feeling like a million bucks.

With a love for hairdressing he brings a wealth of new idea's as he is from London England and he holds so many diploma's, the salon has a calming and sophisticated style (where I always notice homewears that I'd love to own myself). If you want a calming hair salon experience just outside of the city and a more individual approach, this is the salon for you.
