Took my Honda brush cutter back to have a couple of screws replaced that had fallen out. Out of warranty but they were happy to replace them free of charge.

Just purchased a Honda whipper snipper from Mitcham Red Shed.
Staff were exceptional. The young sales assistant was knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to recommend him. Manager was very hands on.
5 stars from us.

Great, Awesome the lot. Scott & Shane just brilliant. both of them have helped me and my business with great prices and good servicing i have bought a number of products from them. from chainsaws all the way up through to zero turn mowers. when i need a part for anything i just pick up the phone call them and they'll get in for me with in a few weeks. or if they have the part in they'll set it aside for when i come in next.
thanks guys will be in again soon!

I had shopped around for a chainsaw that was capable of heavy duty use. Many stores tried to up sell me, but the advice I was given at the Mitcham store was inline with the research I had done. The Husky 135E has been fantastic and it has cut down over 300 trees since Aug 16 without missing a beat.

The first service was conducted promptly and even though this store is 20 mins out of my way I'd be happy to return.

I bought a Honda mower from the Redshed in Mitcham and also recently took it in for repair when it wouldn't start. Their mower prices are a bit cheaper than their competitors, but that's where the positives end.

They offered nothing much in the way of advice on the mower purchase. I ended up with a mower that doesn't meet my needs (very heavy commercial mower that is no good for mowing a steep sloping block) which I will likely need to replace with a more suitable option.

I then made the mistake of taking the mower in there for repair when it would no longer start. They told me they had fixed it and all it needed was a service. They charged $140 for a basic service and when I tried the mower again at home it again failed to start and wasn't fixed at all.

I had no confidence in them after that and took it elsewhere to be fixed properly. The other place I took it quickly diagnosed the problem as bent linkages in the choke, and suggested the machine was probably damaged when I bought it. This confirmed for me that they hadn't checked the mower properly at all when I took it into the RedShed. A complete waste of money.

They may be OK if you don't need any advice on your mower purchase as their prices are a bit cheaper. However, if you want honest advice and servicing given them a miss.

Dear Sara,

On the 4th January 2014, you purchased a Honda 196M Mower from us (at a very good price). All the mowers are set up and assembled in our shop and you, like all our customers, had the opportunity to wheel the mower around prior to purchasing, therefore I am surprised you chose a mower that you find is too heavy for you. We also have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee that allows our customers to try a mower for 30 days and then if that mower is not suitable they can change it to another mower (full details are on our website). We are passionate about people finding the right mower to suit their needs and we are the only company in Australia that offers this guarantee. This offer was available to you.

18 months later you brought your mower in for a repair. We did a major service and changed the blades on your mower. All mowers are tested and started after they have been serviced and our service work comes with a 3 month warranty. This 3 month warranty was available to you.

You have chosen to believe the comments of a business that is in opposition to us and also to use their comments to discredit our business. If the linkage was bent since time of purchase, as they have told you, then it would have been impossible for you to use the mower at all. Linkages can be bent from being knocked whilst getting the mower in and out of the car or from hitting something whilst mowing etc.

Perhaps you should call Honda Australia... they will tell you that The RedShed is one their most highly regarded dealers in the country.

As I made clear in my original comments, my experience was negative because of the service I received not the price of the mower.

RedShed's comment that I "had the opportunity to wheel the mower around" in the shop sums up their approach to service. Im not sure if that RedShed staff member has used a push mower in real life conditions, but pushing it around for a couple of hours on a sloping block of thick grass is a very different experience from briefly pushing it around in the shop. What I hoped to find buying a mower from a specialist mower shop is proactive, practical and informed advice, but that was sadly absent at RedShed.

Their staff were curt and dismissive. At no stage did RedShed's staff ask me questions to seek to determine my needs or offer any proactive advice. When I took my mower to the other business that repaired it, the owner observed that even professional contractors tend to avoid that specific model because of its weight. If I had received any similar advice from RedShed I would never have bought it (as a light-bodied female).

RedShed's repair service was also disinterested and dismissive. When I went to pick up the mower I was simply told the price and nothing about what they did or whether it was in fact fixed. After asking asking about this, I was told it "just needed a regular service" and that the air filter had needed changing. They did not start the mower to confirm it was working.

This was in contrast to the business that actually fixed the mower. The owner there was friendly and helpful. He was proactive in explaining what they did and started the mower when I collected it to confirm it was starting properly. He also advised they had a warranty on their workmanship if there was any further problem. Since that other business repaired my mower it is now starting perfectly every time. This is in contrast to the mowers performance since I bought it from RedShed, which had always been hard to start in comparison.

It is disappointing that RedShed wait until after I have posted a negative review to refer to policies or warranties relating to their service, which I can no longer make use of. These policies were never communicated to me by their staff in person or in the paperwork I received with my mower purchase. Nor did they did they give me this information when they serviced my mower. If RedShed genuinely want to extend these policies to their customers, why not tell customers about them?

Suggesting that I contact one of their suppliers to inform myself about their service completely misses the point. WOMO is a website to share peoples real life experiences as customers. My experience was a poor one.

needed to get a primer bulb, but melbourne mowers at warrigal road- 303 Warrigal Rd, Cheltenham VIC 3192, said that the lawn mower that we took in to show them, said it was a bad mower that we had, and convinced us to purchase another mower from them. instead of just trying to fix the primer bulb in the first place.

Great price poor service. Agreed to send me an express post item for $30 but because it was going to cost them more money they sent it regular post and didn't even tell me or give me the option to pay more. delivery was 1 week instead of the agreed 2 days and I had to follow up with repeat phone calls to final get a tracking number. Never got phoned back I had to ring them every time

I bought a Masport/Honda lawnmower from this company at a price which was about $100 cheaper than several other mower shops. This was one of their fixed time specials and I have been very pleased with my purchase. It helps when buying a lawn mower to know what you want and not get dazzled by the range of product
