Ingrid is incredible and does an amazing job to find forever homes no matter how long it takes for these very deserving animals. I strongly recommend if you are able to provide a cat a home or help sponsor the amazing work that she does.

I became a sponsor of Ingrid's Haven a few years ago after my elderly cat Buffy had died. I'd especially wanted to support a no-kill shelter in honour of Buffy as she had literally wandered into my life after being abandoned at an old age. I knew there were other cats out there with the same horrible background -abandoned for no apparent reason. So for me, finding a place that protected abandoned cats as opposed to euthanizing them was very important to me.

One day I visited Ingrid, primarily to help out with the cleaning, and somehow I came home with a cat. The roundest, fluffiest bundle of tortoiseshell joy you could ever hope for. I named her Olive and she has now been the queen of my house for two years. Olive chose me that day…I didn't really have a say in it at all.

I've since adopted one more furry friend from Ingrid – a little grey tabby boy who idolises Olive and who constantly makes me smile.

Ingrid does an absolutely amazing job of looking after all the cats under her care. She works full time to fund the Haven (desexing, microchipping, vaccinations, food, litter…the list is never ending of the costs associated with running such an operation). Sponsorships and donations are clearly a blessing when they come so even if you can't adopt a cat consider a donation to help Ingrid and the cats.

I cannot recommend Ingrid's Haven highly enough. To anyone wanting to adopt a cat please consider the Haven as your number one choice. The tireless work that Ingrid does to make sure these cats find good homes after their shaky start in life is inspirational.

Adopt a cat – Save a life

I adopted Slinky from Ingrid two months ago and I have to tell someone about how wonderful this woman is. She works at a separate job and runs Ingrid's Haven out of the goodness. She looks after the kittens, cats and senior citizens so well. The holding areas don't smell at all, all the litters are clean, there is always fresh food and water for all kitties.

Since my kitten is very very scaredy and timid I contact Ingrid often via email and she always helps out. All her cats are desexed, wormed, flead, and vaccinated twice. So that's better than any pet store.

Whatever you do DON'T USE A PET STORE. Horrible stories of those poor little kitties.

I don't have enough space to say how much I admire this woman and the work she's doing..

Ps. Yes it's in Wallan, but it's actually really quick to get there on the weekend. Just straight down Hume FWY. Takes about an hour, so don't let that put you off going to say hello.

i found ingrid whilst looking for a new feline friend a few years back, i now try to pop in every six months with a box of food and goodies - she is an amazing lady i wish more people loved animals the way ingrid does

Ingrid has a big heart and is truly an amazing lady. Anyone who visits the haven will be able to see how much love and care Ingrid has given to all cats and kittens staying with her.

We recently adopted a gorgeous cat that was recommended to us by Ingrid and we couldn't be happier. He is exactly what we were looking for.

We always tell people about Ingrid's haven when they ask about our cat and will continue to do so in future.

Our cat came desexed, vaccinated, micro chipped, wormed and flea treated, as do all the other cats and kitten available from Ingrid's haven.

excellent place - why more people dont want to care for the lost and dumped animals I dont know. We should all support the amazing work that this place does.

An emotional but uplifting experience, we came home with a wonderful little cat. Ingrid was extremely helpful and intuitive to our needs. We have since been back to donate some goods and were welcomed like old friends. I would recommend Ingrid and her haven - and of course, all her cats!!

Nearly 2 years ago, I paid a visit to Ingrid to find that special feline. There I met Chester...a gorgeous grey fluffball that purrs like a jet engine. He has brought much laughter and cheer to our home and we couldnt imagine being without him. Ingrid is doing an amazing job with her shelter and I would definitely recommend that anyone looking to adopt a cat make their way to her front door!
