I think I bought my entire bedroom from Ikea...I LOVE their products and how cheap they are. As a struggling uni student it lessens the stress of how much furniture, etc will be. It is such a massive place so if is your first time there, expect to get lost or like you cannot find an exit point. Easily spent 5+ hours there...

I love to have a good browse around Ikea on a Sunday, particularly after their el cheapo (but tasty) breakfast. With the distance you have to walk to get to the exit of the store, it's one good way of working off brekky!

Ikea's Sunday breakfast is hugely popular and probably the reason why the restaurant/cafe opens half an hour earlier than the store itself. People are lined up at the door to get in at 8.30am.

The one thing I don't like about Ikea is that service is very hard to come by. They claim to skimp on service to pass on lower costs but really, service is incredibly important, especially when trying to determine what to do with large items that may or may not fit in your car for the ride home.

The staff are not particularly helpful or pleasant and you really do feel like a number passing through the checkouts.

Still, Ikea is a reasonable weekend outing, whether or not you buy something, but as in my case, it seems silly to travel all that way, walk right through the store and emerge with no purchases. I usually pick up a gadget or something new and attractive for the kitchen.

Huge store with a lot of variety and excellent value for money. The furniture is easy to transport and assemble. If you go on special days like boxing day, there are usually great deals not just on the furniture but also the food.

Great value for money, easy to transport the goods and put together. Goods won't last as long as other furniture but definetley a lot cheaper than most.

Approximate cost: $550

I just love shopping here. It is so interesting, so easy and they have everything you could ever want. Although I don't suggest you go on a public holiday. Too hard to find a car park.

Approximate cost: $500

Yep, I'm another one who loves Ikea!
Going there is an adventure - wandering around all the beautiful displays and imagining how it could work (or not) in your own home. The place is like a maze, an awe-inspiring maze. You can't go there looking for one specific item, you'll never find it, but plan to go for the day and enjoy the adventure!
