We have been to Ginninderra Medical Centre three times - always for our children and at short notice - at all times, the staff have been extremely accommodating in light of the fact that we have young children. The doctors we have had have been quite caring and good with the kids. Wouldn't hesitate going back to this practice.

I have only been once, and only because it was a Friday night, and our normal doctor surgery was shut for the night. I took my young daughter along as she wasn't feeling well, and I thought she probably needed some antibiotics that couldn't wait over the weekend.
It was surprisingly quiet when we arrived, and the wait time wasn't as bad as I had heard it would be. We waited around half an hour or so before seeing a doctor. However, the doctor was difficult to understand, and very brusque. He didn't really check her over at all, just gave me a script for some antibiotics, and told me to collect a urine sample from her and take it to pathology. I felt that he wasn't very thorough.
I did get a sample and gave it to the front desk, as the pathology seemed to have shut by then. I was told that they would not give me the results over the phone as they couldn't positively identify me, which I guess is fair enough, but they also wouldn't give me the results at the front counter, with photo ID. I would have to come back in a few days and wait (for however long it took) to see a doctor just to get the results. I think this is a terrible waste of time, it would be better to give the results over the counter, and then to be advised if you still need to see a doctor. I didn't go back to get the results, better to see our own doctor the following week, as she had the antibiotics to start.
I was reasonably unimpressed by this point. When we tried to exit the building, the automatic doors opened very slowly, and there wasn't anything on the glass to indicate it was there at a child's level. My little girl ran smack into the glass, and got quite a bump on the head, and I had to take her home on concussion watch. The only upside, is that they did put us straight back in to see the doctor to check she wasn't seriously hurt by the door.
There are a couple of pros for this centre: it's opened late, it's bulk-billed, and it has a late opening pharmacy on the premises. But, if you want proper, considered medical care, go somewhere else.

The clinic have got a strange POLICY saying that, the patient got to be physically present to be able to book in the appointment. I stepped in to the clinic to book an appointment for my 7 month old daughter and I didn't took my daughter with me knowing that there would atleast of 3 to 4 hours of waiting before she get to see the doctor.

The staff insisted on having my daughter at the time of booking, They claim the reason for this to be their policy restriction and apparently as per them, it is fair for the rest of the people waiting.

I couldn't get the business of "BEING FAIR TO THE REST OF THE PEOPLE WAITING" , as they wouldn't care or monitor , if the patient choose to leave the clinic after making the booking only to turn after say 3 hours.

In my case, I have to travel back and forth to my house to get my 7 month old daughter who is very unwell, bought into the clinic to just book an appointment, wait there for 4 hours ( risking her to get exposed to other sick patients and may be caught up with some more new viruses )

When I insisted the manager, to show me the so called policy , she replied back saying that she doesn't have to show that to me.

I go here because i like the doctors and they bulk bill for pensioners. In particular, i am impressed with Dr. Jamiel and I also like the fact that the waiting room is spacious and they have a chemist there(open until10pm).

I have heard of people having bad experiences with receptionists/admin staff but, I havent had any problems-probably because I am bulk billed and there is no payment involved and I dont work so I dont have to worry about waiting time.

I booked the swine flu vaccination in Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre on 21 October 2009. I have been there for 3 time, but still cannot have it done. First time I waited around 45 minutes to see one GP and to be told by him the vaccination drug was used up.He asked me to come next day and I did it. But the second time I was told by the receptionist that the nurse has finished work on 16:00 that day. So no body can do the injection for me then. I was told to come again the following day. I came the third times and that's one of my worse experience. I was told by another senior Adminstrater there that the doctor who serviced me first time was not on duty that day. I have been rudely given 2 choices that I could choose to pay the consult fee again (to another available doctor) and get my vaccination done on that day or I could come back again once previous doctor is on duty next week. That senior admin staff also tell me that if I am not happy with that (obviously it's not my fault but end up like my fault), I can make my complain on next Monday when duty manager is there. But she cannto inform me who is the duty Manger and who is the receptionist who provided the wrong information to me previously. She insisted that it's their policy or procedure. Excellent procedure!! And excellent customer service!! She can not provide any help or show their altitude to sort the problem but insisting on I need to be charge again. For what? for my stupidly choosing Ginninderra Medical & Dental Centre? Yes of course! I will never recommend any body to there unless you want to experience waht the worse service will like.

Huge waiting area often filled to capacity as being in Canberra it is one of the few Medical Centres that offers bulkbilling. Do you really want to spend 4 hours around all those sick people?
