Gorgeous little place, with the best brunch options ever. Whenever friends visit Newcastle I always bring them here and we sit on the little balcony overlooking Darby Street. Great service and delicious food.

Really lovely little cafe! Quirky retro decor, fabulous food and super yummy frappes - try the Tom Jones ;)
The breakfast menu is on the pricey side, the $22 steered me for something lighter and less costly. I wound up at the banana bread which was a treat! 2 huge slices served with a honey ricotta for $10, a bargain compared to other cafes in Newcastle. Shame their breakage menu is so pricey as I can only assume after tasting the banana bread that everything that comes out of the kitchen is divine.
Staff were nice enough but a bit stand offish, some smiles and friendliness would tip this cafe into my favourites for sure.

Approximate cost: $20-25

A lovely little place in Darby Street, the layout of the cafe is just so adorable, with all of the unique tables and chairs, art and books - which all contribute to a very cozy atmosphere. I've only ever been here for coffee and sometimes breakfast, and I've never been disappointed :) The staff are very friendly, and are always happy to engage in polite small talk - something I just love about going to restaurants and cafes - as good people usually means good food.
I recommend you have a look inside this lovely cafe, and if you get a chance - go and have a look at the wonderful upstairs design :)

Frankie's is quite small, but it packs quite a punch. The service is great and food and drinks are brought out very quickly. It is a nice little place to just relax, have a meal and discuss with fellow students/colleagues/friends. I return about once a fortnight to experience one of the best coffees I have ever tasted!

Frankies Place is the cutest, most awesomely decorated cafe I've ever dined at. The whole vibe about the place, coupled with the great food and excellent service makes it a real joy to dine there every time.

My favorite dish on the menu is ‘Frankies' benedict (poached egg on sourdough bread, wilted baby spinach, house made hollandaise sauce and bacon (add-on)). I don't know how they make their hollandaise sauce but it is d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.

Take my word for it guys. Go down to Frankies' for breakfast, you won't regret it.

This place has the best coffee. It's that good. it also offers a big range on the lunch and breakfast menu. No dinner menu as yet. The staff are really lovely and helpful. the decor is endearing and the balcony is gggrrrreat for people watching.
