The manager is super rude and aggressive for absolutely no reason.
We stopped in for Sunday Happy Hour and enjoyed $12 Cocktails. I'll be back soon for another Velvet Mexican.
Went here last night (Sunday night) for a drink. Good happy hour and friendly service. I ordered the pink gin drink which was delicious. Good location and bar has a nice interior
This place was really enjoyable for lunch. The food was great, the service was good and the atmosphere was amazing. I loved the decoration and style almost as much as the food. Would definitely go back.
Had the pulled pork for msins and it was pretty dry which was a shame. Tasty though and adter sharing a tasting platter with two other ppl I couldn't eat the entire main. Service was pretty good. Well a couple of the wait staff were considerate and asked before clearing ur plate- except for one staff who leant right between myself and a colleague mid conversation. Not wowed by this place heaps of dark stairs to orienteer in and out which is ridiculous. The decor is kitschy
Approximate cost: $24
went on a friday night for dinner with a table booking, was pretty busy and the music was a bit too loud for conversation (the bar was next door)
had the man burger and the buffalo wings, both quite okay price wise and the buffalo wings had the right amount of spice to it, the man burger was absolutely too filling
wait for the food was a bit too long, so was waiting for water, but i guess since it was a busy friday night we couldnt complain
I really can't argue with a double happy hour. Two, two hour happy hours mean cheap $5 drinks (and not just basics!) Father's Office is tucked away, but gets busy by 9pm. Perfect for after work as you can always get a seat, but there is still a good atmosphere. Nice spot looking over to the State Library.
Great food as well - nothing healthy, New Orleans/southern inspired fried shrimp goes down a treat.
given the actual location of the place and how it's so central, that's a pretty great deal!
Great new CBD bar, with fantastic drink specials, plenty of seating, yummy bar snack and great service. Check out their website for drinks specials during the week - Saturday two lots of happy hour to keep you there drinking away while you watch the city go past on Swanston St
I've been to Father's Office twice now for nibblies and drinks. While it is a pleasant place it is not overwhelmingly wonderful.
They have a good bar menu for nibblies, but it is not very varied, there are not many dishes suitable for sharing. The foods are not what you would expect of a bar menu eg. polenta fries, but this makes for a refreshing change.
The staff are friendly enough, the food was tastey but the portions were small and quite expensive. If you arrive at the right time they have a happy hour with a list of drinks for only $5.
The place is quite large, with a restaurant and indoor and outdoor seating for the bar. It is nice to be able to sit on the balcony and watch Swanston St.
i didn't get to check the outside area out while i visited, the view would be great i can imagine
Visited for lunch and ordered the man burger.
I would not recommend it. Not for any quality reason but nobody needs that much fat on one sitting. I may be back as other items on the menu looked ok and less likely to clog the arteries.
The fries were very nice
Athosphere is a bit gloomy and could use a bit more light or at least light surfaces to reflect the little natural light they get
Approximate cost: $15
agreed i didn't even get to finish my man burger!
