Purchased some seeds from the diggers club online. Some were substituted without my request: orange marigolds for calendulas. Some did not even germinate: red marigolds. The tomatoes and cucumbers did germinate. Happy about that.

Ordered 3 avocado trees. Took 9 days to arrive. They are withered, almost dead. They are about 25-30cm tall! First I thought they are Bonsai trees.... The tomato plants from the local garden center are taller! What a joke! Disgusting! Plus the Membership cost me almost $100 for2 years, I've should've tested them before spending $250 on these...

Approximate cost: $250.00

The plants are never in good condition when they arrive - often rootbound, very expensive prices, terrible customer service and they expect you to pay for this kind of service through a membership! So many better and cheaper options.

Approximate cost: $100

I made an online order for a plant that was supposed to be in stock. It arrived more than 3 weeks after placing the order and was a damaged sickly specimen that looked as though it won't survive. My emails have been largely ignored by diggers, originally I sent 3 emails to find out where the plant was (eventually one was answered). Since the delivery I have sent 3 emails explaining the situation and requesting a refund (all 3 remain unanswered). Quality and customer service are terrible. I won't waste my time or money again.

Approximate cost: $20

Overpriced plants and seeds. I ordered a variety of plants online, they very small and poor quality for the price when compared to other services such as [Retracted name of other business]. I also contacted Diggers via about the availability of a plant and never heard back...very poor considering you have to buy a 'membership' in order to purchase certain items. Most of the heritage and heirloom varieties can be purchased from other seed suppliers at a fraction of the cost. My 'membership' expired and I will not be buying again from Digger's.

Dreadful!!!

Diggers sent me out of date tomato seeds that never germinated and argued that tomato seeds last 10 years, I asked how old the seeds were and they would not say. Getting replacement seeds (even though they sent out of date seeds that did not germinate) was a nightmare and after 4 weeks when the replacement seeds eventually turned up they had an expiry date 1 month away.

Very POOR service indeed.

I love the Diggers Club gardens but their seeds are a complete waste of money. Some have a poor germination rate, and some have not germinated at all. The tomatoes have been fairly bland, and we tried a few different varieties. Forget the brussel sprouts: they will bolt. The cauliflowers were poor, as were the broccoli. The dill was also very disappointing. The tomatoes were destroyed by disease as were the potatoes. The beetroot were very small and somewhat woody. Carrots were also woody. The only vegetables that we had any success with were cucumbers, onions and radishes. What people forget is that heirloom varieties are often not pest or disease resistant and can be difficult to grow. We have probably spent over $1000 over the past two years trying to grow our own vegetables with little success. And, if you are tempted to think that we have 'black thumbs' well, our experience is not an isolated one: we know of others who have had little success with Diggers Club seeds. I am not going to buy a single seed from them again.
