I would not recommend this one.. the duck was dry and very over cooked. The pizza was average and the service was not much better. They do have a great convenient location though....

I would not recommend a visit ! Dont bother - its a nice venue and good position but thats where the good ends.
No customer service. no communication !
Lukewarm coffee that only came after I complained twice that it never came.
But thats not all - the food didnt arrive either!!
after asking and asking for half an hour they still couldnt report back to us to give an update ! Just kept walking past trying not to look at us ! Wtf. Had to get up and leave after sitting there for almost an hour waiting for a bite to eat. Does not rate any stars because unlike others we didnt get to taste the food! A waste of time !

We recently travelled to Melbourne from Sydney and had very enjoyable dinner here. The food was delicious and service was great with the staff paying good attention to my young children.

We will definitely go back next time in Melbourne.

We were searching for somewhere to eat with kids @ crown & thought this place looked ok a had what kids eat pizza/chips etc.

Tables are very close together - we had to squeeze past a few to get to ours along the wall, so we felt like you were dining with the table next to you.

Between the 6 of us we ordered the garlic/parmesan bread which was very nice but a small portion for price, bowl of chips (French fires) 2 pizzas, which were small only 4 slices that probably only serve 1 person & light on toppings for the prices, the bbq chicken was nice & the Hawaiian was pretty average & not very tasty and lastly a salad which was coated in way too much white vinegar & barely any cucumber or tomato in it, really a bowl of lettuce - not nice at all.

Overall, not much of an impression made on us, next time we'd go somewhere else.

Absolutely amazing food .. great prices and very attentive staff.
What a great location showing off some of the best views melbourne has to offer.
Went with a group and every single one of us were impressed with our meals and would definitely go again.

Ok place as are most of the casual restaurants in Crown. My wife likes the seafood dishes, calamari or scaloppine. I love the pastas or the veal. Not the cheapest but what I expect from such places.

An excellent range of high quality modern food. Try the Pollo Alla Grilia once, It's awesome and perfectly cooked. Worth the money. I wish to come here again this weekend.

Worst service I have ever experienced in my life!!!! So many waiters, but they are all wondering around doing nothing, trying to avoid doing any work. It didn't seem like anyone was in charge.

The food for what it is and what you get charged for cafe food was ridiculously overpriced, and I normally don't mind paying a lot for food that is good.

What really annoyed us, was the waitress dropped a bowl of dip right on the top of a step. She never came back to clean it, about 5 waiters walked around it and ignored it. 3 ladies almost slipped down the steps and we were just disgusted that they didn't care about this bright red beetroot dip on the floor. We were joking that they actually wanted a lawsuit to happen.

Avoid this place at all costs!!!

If the afore-mentioned ratings are anything to go by, then this place is not worth bothering with. Thanks for the heads-up LindaI, Irishchic and Alberto_P.

Nothing good to report about the experience except the staff were lovely. The decor is boring, food terrible and very small servings. Really you would have a similar but better experience if you grabbed something from the foodcourt nearby.

It's been a few years since I've been to Crown and even probably longer since I've visited Cervo. Nicely located next to Automatic, my memory of Cervo was modest Italian food at a reasonable location. My visit today (with 6 other friends) blasted those memories into history.

First it takes 20 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted some drinks. Another 30 is required to work out if we wanted to eat. When the food came, my pizza was missing a key ingredient - olives (although the colleague next to me ordered the same not requiring such ingredient - perhaps leading to the mistake). I mentioned this and they took it back. On the pizza's return there were olives that were cold, obviously taken out of the jar to appease a paying customer. The pizza itself looked fine until I tried to eat it. The crust was a little too well done; too crispy to easily sink teeth into. Others had average penne funghi and a bolognaise. One praised the gnocchi, which was a saving grace.

All in all, this venue hasn't kept pace with the venue. The arrival of such luminaries as Nobu and Bistro Guillaume should have inspired some places to lift their act rather than drop the ball. Pity. I had such good memories.

Approximate cost: $20
