I used Car Servicing and You Keilor Park. The tyres had to be replaced on my sons 4wd. Paul was the most helpful person we spoke to whilst we looked around for prices, he really put himself out there. He was friendly and respectful. I highly recommend the Keilor Park CSandY if you need to fix your tyres.

Approximate cost: $1100

For years I've suffered from dodgy mechanics, so I thought well WOMO can't get it wrong....IT DID. I went to Car Servicing & You due to the 5 star feedback- surely it can't be dodgy?

The car was overdue for a service and had a problem with the petrol being used at a ridiculously scary rate. It also would get a warning that the ABS system had a fault.

Explained all of this to the mechanic, expecting some bad news..... few hours later I get a phone call explaining all of these things needing to be done that add up to over $2000, if I get it all done, it'll be like a new car- If I get most of it done around $1800 it'll be safe/reliable etc. etc. My bf and I figured it needed things done and gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to have the $1800 worth of work/servicing done to it- he also mentioned we'd be able to pick the car up that night even though there was so much to do...

Pick the car up and the mechanic warns us that he thinks they've fixed the ABS problem but maybe not- as soon as they turn the car on it starts notifying us of its fault- not fixed, but that's ok as it was a possibility.

After we drive away we occasionally start to notice this weird kind of rattling fan kind of sound from one side of the car.

The petrol starts being used at a more normal rate- tick.

2 weeks later driving the car- it starts to shake like REALLY BAD! My partner looks under the bonnet and notices that the new leads are sitting on the exhaust (the mechanic mentioned previously that the old leads were fried so they were replaced!) the car shakes and sparks fly. So we can't drive it. I call the mechanic he says bring it back and he'll have a look at it etc.

I take it in the next day (before I leave for a 2 week holiday) and leave it with him. Later on I get a call letting me know that the leads are melting on the exhaust and it's missing some protective cap, but it's a prior problem to when they changed the leads over so this time he will charge me only for the parts to replace the leads again and put some tape on them to hold them in place....something like $150 I swear he said. I was Like what, why? then he goes on again about the problem existing prior to when they fixed it---blah blah... So because they didn't do their job properly and figure out why the first set of leads were fried I have to pay again? I call my partner and explain the situation and he speaks to the mechanic and after some discussion and my partner saying how it is- that they can't charge us twice for the same job! the mechanic turns around straight away and says "I'll do ya a favour, because you spent so much money, I'll do it free of charge for ya." So then I go to pick it up and he says to me like he was going to all along "Free of charge for you!"---not like we didn't have to argue it. So that's my long story. Basically in my experience I wouldn't go back to be charged twice for them not doing their job in the first place- then trying to take advantage of a female who knows nothing about cars and can't stand confrontation. They deserve this review and this one star. I've had enough of mechanics!

P.S. 2 weeks later get back from my holiday AND MAYBE this is a coincidence, most likely....But maybe not.....The car starts overheating due to a burst hose. (found out from a mechanic friend- should've used them from the start.)

Approximate cost: $1400

Hi Louise, thank you for taking the time to write this review. I have investigated your experience with us and agree that you were treated unfairly, much to my disappointment.
You are correct in saying that the issue should have been resolved under warranty without hesitation and the initial cause of the fault should have been reported to you with the original repair. While this is of little consequence to you now, the mechanic who worked on your car was new to us at the time and is no longer with us.
I have spoken with the manager regarding our warranty policy and he certainly understands that how he approached your situation was not right.
In relation to the ABS fault i note that it was recorded on your invoice that the ABS unit was faulty and that the codes had been cleared but the fault not rectified. In these circumstance when a fault code is recorded in your car's electronic management systems there is a chance that it is a historical fault code that just needs to be cleared from the computer's memory. We did this for you but given the ABS unit is faulty the fault code came straight back.
In relation to the hose blowing, on cars like yours that are over 10 years old and over 150000kms, it is not always possible to predict when items like that will fail. At the time of service we did pressure test your cooling system and found a faulty radiator cap which you agreed to have replaced with the service. No other fault was found in the cooling system at that time. I also need to note that the cost of your repairs on the day was $1400 not $1700.

I am happy for you to contact me directly as we would like the opportunity to correct our mistake and help out with some of the other repairs the car still needs. Please call me directly on on 0400 543 500. My name is Jeremy.

Highly professional service in technical aspects as well as equally professional and honest in attitude to customers.
They manage to find and fix the problem on my Mitsubishi Grandis after uncountable attempts to get it done by dealership service, which produced just wasted time, money and plenty of disgusting discussions.
"Car Service & You" proved they are much better than fancy branded service.
I am very much grateful to Symak, Mike and all other team members for their efforts, time and attention paid to to kill a gremlin in my car
Great thanks guys!

Hi Andrew, thanks for taking the time to write this. More importantly, thanks for having the patience to work with us as we got your car resolved. Computer and electronic faults are not always straightforward and without your patience our job would have have been much more difficult.

I visited this store with a tyre puncture needing repair.
I was treated with courtesy & professionalism.
The premises - office & workshop are clean & organised, the same way my vehicle & i were treated.
Steve & Sam fixed my problem immediately, with professional advice and at the right price.
My wife had a tyre repair up the road and they tried to rip her off. I would not hesitate to recommend this business to any of my friends, family or colleagues.
Honest, Old fashioned service with a smile & trustworthy.

Approximate cost: $33

Hi Darren, thanks for your feedback. Steve and Sam will be very happy to see your kind words.

I wasn't very happy with the service here, despite all of the other glowing reviews. I felt it was overpriced and it wasn't clearly explained to me, what was wrong with my car before it was fixed. I won't return

Hi Anonymous sorry to hear you weren't happy. We are keen to hear specifically what you were not happy with and see if there is anyway we can help. Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback.

Dealt with the Keilor Park guys. Apart from the dollars saved (which was excellent). Service and advice was excellent. The advice received has assisted me in clarifying an ongoing issue which the manufacturer were not able to advise on.

Approximate cost: $800

Glad our advice was helpful. Thanks for your kind words
