Visiting Brunetti's from what I understand is an experience.
The cakes and pastries are beautiful. The last time we went there we had breakfast and even though was nice I would have preferred to have table service. When we wanted another coffee we had to queue for ages.
Good quality reliable cakes, made with fresh ingredients and with an italian slant. The price point is very reasonable. I would recommend ordering or purchasing their cakes.
However, I would avoid eating in store, as it is very much an open space, with hard surfaces which is terrible for acoustics. Furthermore there is no table service, you have to line up at the counter.
Tops review mate, spot on
This is the new Brunetti boutique at the Lygon Centre. Located in a prime position right inside the Lygon Centre, downstairs from Nova. The store is freshly fitted out, and features a very large display case which stretches right across the store and is in full view through the glass store frontage. Very advantageous from a publicity perspective. The Brunetti experience is now even more of a showcase than ever before and even more tempting in its new position. The cakes, coffees etc are still the same. Reliable, reasonably priced creations targeting the upper-middle market. The service could be better however. I have never been particularly fond of the order at the counter idea. It creates a feeling of a homogenous, impersonal, commercial experience.
Went there yesterday. They need to sort a few things out. Just to get a cake you have to order at one counter the walk over to another and wait a couple of minutes just for them to put it in the bag
It can also be a very busy crowded and noisy experience. Not sure whether it is because it is still new. I would advise going to get a takeaway and eating in the serenity of the nearby gardens.
great atmosphere, lovely food (bit expensive but worth the quality)
this place is absolutely MASSIVE! heaps of cakes and pastries and ice cream flavors to choose from, and their hot chocolate's pretty good too!
lots of seating (inside and out) and great vibe althroughout
Always wanted to try here but haven't as yet.
having been coming here regularly since i was a kid. always busy, and whilst sometimes you may have to wait a short while for a table, it's worth it - great atmosphere, great coffee, and of course, fabulous cakes!!
We always say we buy cake with attitude with this shop. The staff behind the counter are not always friendly. We're hoping that these reviews will get them to lift their game.
Approximate cost: $15
The food is a little pricey here, but it's yummy. And so pretty to look at. They have a display of cakes as you walk in the entrance, and then a huge display of little treats (single portions of cakes, various biscuits, little chocolates, etc). In the adjoining room, the have a cafe/restaurant where you can purchase more substantial food. Their cannelloni was excellent - the bechamel sauce is so tasty! The pizzas and sandwiches also look great.
I totally agree with you! delicious cakes although slightly expensive, but its a nice treat! :)
I have tried the cannelloni and they are so yum!
It was very busy when I went here with some friends for a coffee and cake for dessert after eating out somewhere else earlier. It took us approx 10 minutes to place our order. The staff were so friendly and provided very attentive table service.
There really is such an amazing selection of cakes, desserts and other sweet Italian treats like biscotti. I think I put on a few kg's from eating there!!!
The hot chocolate was excellent but the cappuccinos tasted very ordinary.
Approximate cost: $14
i love their cakes and macarons.
the hot chocolate is also yummy not sure about coffee as i dont drink it.
so many different variety of cakes.
The New York style cheesecake is good too!
OK, Be prepared for the best of best cakes and deserts here. The Unfortunate about it is the cost. You need a second mortgage to have a decent time here and that is a real pity. They know they are good and they know your going to pay for it, and if you can't then the doors are closed for you. Be prepared to see the odd Ferrari, Maserati or Lamborghini out front. You wanted to know how the 1% live? This is it!!!
Approximate cost: $lots
“I went there with my Mum this afternoon and I got myself a Tiramisu for $5 so I”…
