Birchalls is ideally located in the Brisbane Street Mall & although their staff are ready to help if you need assistance, they allow you the comfort of browsing at your leisure.

This is the best book store in Tasmania because it has a very large range of books for children and teenagers and the prices are always reasonable. The only problem is their ten dollar deposit for placing an order for a book that is out of stock.

A great range of stationary, magazines, books, gifts and school supplies. They will happily order in school text books which is a great help. The prices on some things are slightly expensive but are generally okay. The store is nicely set out and pram accessible except can not take a pram upstairs but upstairs is only the school section.
