This is the one place I am guaranteed to find my craft or book needs, they have always had a big selection and the staff have always been happy to help order things in where possible. They also have a great range of toys (the section appears small) a lot of non mainstream items which is fantastic

Launceston is incredibly fortunate to have this store still thriving when the online market is so strong. I often get carried away browsing the collectables, books, toys, crafts and gift ware. Staff are always accommodating and no request seems too stupid

Birchalls is by far the best book store in Launceston for range, how ever as they arent a large chain or an online store the prices are often more than I really want to pay. The store is well laid out and staff are more than happy to help you find what you are looking for. They have the largest range of magazines and newspapers in the Launceston area, the novelty section at the back is also worth a look

Birchalls has always carried an extensive range of books, they have an easy to navigate sorting system unfortunately for a lot of titles it is often cheaper to shop at large chain stores, I do try to support local business but when their mark up is high its not always possible. They have always carried a fantastic range of stationary and cards along with an incredible toy section with a lot of education themed items

Great range of products! Always have what I'm after weather it be hobbies books or magazines, staff are always well presented and helpful. Never a bad experience when shopping there!

Birchalls is one of the best bookshops I have ever been to. They have a fantastic range of books and cater to practically everyone's taste. I particulary like their range of cooking titles and have bought quite a few over the years. Being Australia's oldest bookshop they also are very knowledgeable.

Birchalls sell a wide variety of wide ranges. Books, stationary, toys, gifts for special events, school needs etc. When ive bought things from birchalls previously its always been worth the money as its been A+++++ value and quality.

birchalls offer a great range of books, stationary, toys, dvds and gifts. I find there books are a bit dearer than a few other books stores in launceston but i find it convenient to shop there as i can grab my stationary needs as well as toys whne they are on special. Staff are extremely helpful and sotre is always well stocked. If they do not have the book you are looking for the will order it in and let you know when it comes.
