Unfortunately dinner was quite average.
The crispy pork belly entree was missing the crispy component but the fennel and orange salad which accompanied it was delicious. Hubby had the beef burger which was quite nice, I had the chicken schnitzel. Schnitzel was good, chips would've been good had they not been so salty (and I love salt) and side salad was covered in a very unappetising dressing.
I'd probably only give 3 1/2 stars, but that isn't an option.
Window seats were available and remained available during our booking - yet we were unable to take advantage. Zucchini flowers were quite nice but desperately needed seasoning. The garfish main was fabulous. My husband's pork main was also very good. The brownie dessert was just ok. I wouldn't recommend the Negroni. They also used single use plastic straws which I really don't like. Service was fine.
Unfortunately we were a bit early for the tapas, but had a drink and some lotus chips - first time trying these and they were delicious... great nibbles with a drink. Service was super friendly. I also tried a sake - not for me but had to try one.
Stopped in for some tapas. Service was great.
Had the Portuguese meatballs which were in a delicious tomato sugo - unfortunately only 2 meatballs which for $13 seemed a little stingy - very tasty however. Served with some charred ciabatta. Also had the spicy glazed pork belly. Also a small serving but rather tasty.
I also tried a Ginger Spice cocktail - I hate that most cocktails are served in small glasses filled with ice, but this glass was enormous. It was very gingery and rather nice.
During a week on the sunshine coast we notice this restaurant was always busy so went there on our last night. Service was very good. I had some oysters kilpatrick which at $4.75 were quite pricey, particularly since they would have to be the smallest oysters I've ever seen. I think tinned oysters are bigger. I then had the gnocchi with mushrooms at $38... or I should say mushrooms with gnocchi. There was a lot of mushrooms. Way too many. It was very rich and one dimensional. It looked a bit small, but was filling despite not eating about half. My husband had the duo of pork with lots of flowers on the plate - he loved that (haha). Pork was cooked well and tasty. Very pricey. Maybe we just chose wrong... I don't know, but would not be in a hurry to return.
Popped in for a pre-theatre meal. Really enjoyed our meal. The lam yiros, wasn't yiros, but was delicious chunks of marinated lamb. The schnitzel was def above average and the service was great.
We shared a number of dishes which were mostly pretty good.
The chicken wings were fantastic as were the Asian greens and rice. The squid was a very generous portion and quite nice. The chicken skewers were really dry and not enjoyable at all. The crispy pork belly was also quite nice. Cocktails and drinks were very overpriced and the service was inconsistent. Will return just for the wings, greens and rice - they were amazing.
Hubby and I enjoyed an amazing lunch here on Sunday. We grazed for a couple of hours on delicious food with fabulous service. Restaurant is cosy and comfortable.
We ate ... calamari - yum, haloumi - yum, meatballs with risoni - yum, lamb souvlaki - yum! Accompanying potatoes and salad also yum.
My small criticisms would be - I was lucky enough to have the cushy bench seat but the chairs need cushions, the pita bread was not the best I've had and I'd like to see a couple of boutique local gin choices.
The service was fantastic and I loved that we weren't rushed. The courses came out in a leisurely fashion and we were able to graze over a couple of hours and really enjoy it. Can't wait to return and try the octopus and the whitebait.
With a couple of drinks each and a full belly, cost total was $140 - well worth it.
Comforting food, generous portions, great service, lots of delicious cocktails - can't wait to return.
Calamari was so tender and generous portion, dips and bread were also a generous portion and super tasty. Chicken wings were spicy and delicious. Lamb sliders were tender and also really tasty.
Great bar with great food. Service was excellent. Really good range of cocktails.
We had a number of share plates between us which were very good. Loved the calamari - really tender. The dips and bread were also tasty and quite a generous serving. Chicken wings were a bit spicy for me, but my hubby devoured them. Lamb sliders were super tasty. Would definitely return.
