This review is for Nice at Nelson Bay, Nelson Bay NSW

holidaying at Port Stephens with some good friends & looking for good local eats to sample, (an all day brekky, specifically) we came across Nice at Nelson Bay - with indoor & outdoor seating, the cutest menus we've ever seen - creatively put in the covers of childrens' storybooks!
I had french toasted sourdough wth rocket, crispy bacon, pine nuts, parmesan & tomato jam + a sumer berry smoothie. friends sampled their coffee, chai lattes & we all agreed both their meals & drinks were 5 stars!!!!!! we even decided to give them a tip - incredibly rare for us who were asian (!) ;) we even thought of coming back for brekky the next day!

in a hurry to grab a quick AND HEALTHY AND WELL-PRICED bite/drink on the move? stop by selfie foods in Kogarah railway station! I'd previously passed by & ignored this shop a few times before, wrongly thinking it sold 'selfie sticks' ... when I passed by it again one afternoon on the go, I had a secondlook & was impressed by the healthy menu selection -- a range of salads for $7.50, I might try their sandwhiches/juices/frozen yoghurts another time.
- they certainly have all the right ingredients for the busy yet health-conscious customer!
what really won me was the friendliness of the service!
I look forward to returning ;)

this quaint little cafe is just the spot to enjoy some very novel sweets - all baked from scratch on premises, making cupcakes, cakes, gifts, cookies & desserts (they even do dessert lasagnas - that piqued my tastebids with curiousity plus!!)
I enjoyed a late morning tea here today (at lunchtime!) though on a busy road, the interior decorating takes customers back to possibly fond memories of yesteryear.

I tried their cheapest offerings to start with, going for a choc/coconut cruffle - $1.50 (similar to a truffle but better, by their description), and after trying one, these bite-sized balls release a wonderfully rich flavour that betrays their size!

... this could be the start of a new sweet addiction :P

I also tried their Greek honey + walnut biscuit (malomakarona or something long & fancily exotically named?!) for $2.50. I was half expecing to feel like sickeningly over-sugared afterwards, but pleasantly wasn't. :)
Despite the petite-sized treats, I felt amply satiated afterwards! I look forward to coming back & introdicing others here too!

found a voucher in smartsaver.com.au for this restaurant - free main with any order of entree + another main (equal or lesser value) - nice, modern, cafe decor looking out onto the mall, the prices were definitely more upmarket, but the service was very friendly~! =) together with my friend we had Rajma chawal Arancini balls ($7.50) for entree with butata Vada,($7.50) and mango Lassi ($5) then for mains we had tsandoori lamb chops ($19), Vindaloo Chicken ($20), wiped up with roti bread ($3.50) then for dessert we tried their Shirkhand Canolli ($7) which, though pricey, was an absolute taste delight!!! we were thereafter 6:30 pm on a Friday night, it wasn't too crowded at all which was nice

I saw the sign outside this place making known their 'haloumi stack' - being a case of love of this cheese at first bite, I was waiting for an occasion to try it out! so I caught up with my coffee-loving 'father figure' over brekky, both of us trying this great sounding haloumi stack - poached eggs, haloumi cheese, bacon, spinach, grilled tomatoes on sourdough -- top marks for an absolute winner of a brekky -- left me full for hours!! + I decided to also try their cocoberry paradise protein shake, which didn't taste anywhere near as yummy/exotic as the name ..but still nice ;) we sat outside in a beautiful bay breeze in the morning ~ 8am on a Monday morning ..

This review is for Cronulla Curry House, Cronulla NSW

walking along the main St in Cronulla with a friend, both hungry, on a budget searching for a good place to eat - we came across Cronulla Curry House with their lunch special board outside "$7.50 combination 3 curries + rice, entrees from $0.50 - the bargain-lover in me *knew* this place had to be a winner, or at very least it'd be worth checking it out! ~1pm it wasn't busy so we got quick, quality service :D I ordered lamb madras, mixed vege curry + eggplant & potato curry (so that was the $7.50 lunch special!)+ 2x chicken & garlic balls ($1 each!)+ 2 eggplant pakoras. (0.50 each!) it was helpful each curry was labelled 'mild' 'med hot' or 'very hot' for those wanting to know what they're in for! I also ordered a chai [tea] for $2.50 which capped off a great meal! - servings were generous for the price, making it extra good value for anyone on a budget & still wanting great tasting yumminess! a very welcome difference to other Indian places I've been that pile on the rice but go stingy on the curries with their lunch specials! cant wait to come back - and will have to bring friends too, and perhaps try out their mango/rose lassi/naan breads!

going for a diner party with a really good friend & needing to get some takeaway fast, he knew just the place to go -- we weren't left waiting long for our meal, but the waiting area, near the front of their restaurant wasn't near to where the meals were dispensed, so we weren't sure when ours was ready... minor point though, looks like they do good business - for $60 we had a Thai papaya salad, beef pad se-ew noodles, BBQ calamari + BBQ chicken ... as yummy as you'd expect Thai food to be! =)

my housemate & I are both Indian food lovers and got their menu in the mail. Seeing as they offer a free meal on your birthday (min. 6 people), I thought I had to check them out for a future free birthday meal! it was a little hard to find from the street driving by, but after parking parallel to Caringbah railway station & walking up along the shops, it was pretty easy to locate. first impressions: Del, the owner was very friendly, personal & attentive to us, recommending choices from the menu which catered for our preferences & tastes ... I later wondered if he just chose all the expensive items from the menu & we'd be in for a rude shock when the bill came ... I enjoyed the warm, ambient decor & the waitress, Rosie who kept checking up on us to see how everything was, was a really nice touch! I was also impressed with how little fat was in both the beef rogan josh & lamb saag curries we had. the garlic naans were the best my housemate & I have tried anywhere! the mixed entrees gave us a great sampling of the entrees on offer. we also had the mango lassis which were very flesh & flavorsome!! Our tastebuds were absolutely delighted in the freshness & quality of all the dishes. while the end bill was the most I've ever paid for, we concluded for the pure quality & service, it was well worth it~! can't wait to go back & try more of the menu, his time with the desserts. definitely recommending this place to all spiceloving eaters. my housemate & I both found our new #1 Indian restaurant! :)

This review is for Mizuya Japanese Restaurant And Karaoke, Sydney NSW

verified email - 31 Dec 2014

I've never been karaoke-ing before, but this was a most excellent 1st time experience! the staff were all friendly & helpful.
Apparently you need at least 6 to book a room. I couldn't get over their incredible deal - $12 for Japanese lunch + 1 hour karaoke with their large library of old + new songs in English + i think I saw Chinese + Japanese language searches also. we stayed on for another hour which only cost $5 extra per head .. my other friends who've tried other karaoke places said Mizuya had a better song selection.. so if I ever hear of any friends waning to go Karaoke, I'll definitely recommend MKizuya! I ordered the melty beef wit sashimi [which wasn't really "melty" at all] ... but all was really nice. could definitely have done with a more generous serving of veges though
