I went here once with some friends for lunch. Though we had high expectations because of the prices and the location of the restaurant, they were really not met. I ordered a plate of snails. They were much too oily and overcooked. The main for me, chicken, was very well done and quite dry and salty but otherwise flavourless. Chocolate mouse for dessert was slightly better, but not great, and the portions were all very small. It's not a place I'd go back to anytime soon.
Fitness First is an absolutely massive gym, with rows and rows of modern and new equipment and machines. The toilets and change rooms are clean and large, and even includes a solarium. Personally I'm not fond of the trainers here, but they work you really hard. The background music drives me nuts, but that's a matter of taste. It's very involved in the local community and offers free gym time during school holidays for teenagers. Overall, it's a pretty good place for an intense workout.
The training here is quite good. However, it's a really small place and there isn't a lot of equipment, and the deco isn't that good. Some equipments are a bit dodgy and old, or there are insufficient numbers. But it's a passable place.
Unless you have an appointment (and sometimes even if you do), the waiting time is extremely long. Think up to a few hours. The doctors there really aren't that great and I've had many times where they'd downplay or not really care about whatever condition I'm in.
It's a really quiet place, but the food, ambiance and service are all excellent. The rice that comes with all curries is very fluffy and aromatic. The curries are authentic and traditional, and there is a huge range. Their desserts are excellent too, and there are small sweets on display.
There is a great range of food here. My personal favourites are the marinated beef, roast potato with honey and the Korean noodles. The food has been better but the quality had gone down since new management was put in place.
This deli probably has the best range of products and the best value in Hurstville. It's a very popular store and quite busy on weekends. Their products are good quality and of reasonable value.
The doctors here are ok for normal checkups and small illnesses, but I find they often downplay problems for specialists, like sporting injuries. The waiting time is extremely long, so make sure you book beforehand and arrive on time with a good book.
Kogarah library is a pretty new library, as can be seen from the stylish visual layout of the library. Its range of books isn't the best, but any books you would like that isn't already on the shelves can be requested, and most likely would be purchased. It's a great spot for some light reading and studying.
Hurstville Library has a very good range of books and multimedia, which are mostly in great condition. The children's sections, however, is a big letdown, as the books are often misplaced or tattered. Visually the library could do with a revamp, but generally it's great and a very popular place to be in the suburb.
