Met my friend for coffee/lunch New Year's Day - that in itself was a bonus - Shingle Inn was open. We arrived at 9am started with Flat White/Decaf Flat White Coffees stayed until Lunch (Chicken Waldorf Salad + Sweet Potato & Baby Spinach Salad) and finished around 2.45pm with Coffee/Decadent Hot Chocolate. At no point were we "hurried"on, which was lovely - we found a nice booth at the back and just sat and chatted and watched other customers come and go throughout the day. A few little things could be improved - water station at front was running on empty from the start of the day, and was warm - perhaps fill to brim and put some ice in it? - My Chicken Waldorf Salad arrived without the walnuts - staff were very apologetic and promptly fixed the situation - Decadent Hot Chocolate - great concept of mixing hot melted chocolate into frothed milk (unfortunately not that hot) and 2 small marshmallows to add to the mix - yummy, but could have been hotter... other than those small things, had a lovely day and will certainly be returning! Thank you and Happy New Year!

Met friend for coffee Saturday 21st December at 2.30pm - hardly anyone in café - we both had flat white and then hot chocolate - ok, nothing to rave about - hot chocolate not hot - always annoying - café is obviously undergoing renovations - looked dreadful - exposed bare timber where cushioned seating had once been - very tacky - staff were getting ready for evening crowd and covered bare timber with white tablecloths and tinsel - looked hideous - hope they finish renovating sooner rather than later.

Stopped for Hot Chocolate (which was awesome!) and Cinnamon Toast (Horrendous! Dry, Thin, over-toasted, could hardly taste cinnamon - looked like bread had been toasted/squashed in sandwich toaster press) - $9.30 total paid - VERY DISAPPOINTED, especially after having been to the City Hall Shingle Inn and had the most AMAZING Cinnamon Toast (so thick, hot and tasty) - staff really need to visit the City Hall store to learn how it's done - first time there, and will not be going again!

Breakfast with a friend Sunday morning 8.30 - lovely sunny spot out the front of restaurant -I had Scrambled Eggs 'n' Fetta with 2 flat whites; my friend had Brekkie Crumble with 2 decaf flat whites - looked amazing - will try that next time - service was good, staff attentive, orders were perfect and we weren't moved on after breakfast - stayed around 'til lunchtime chatting & having coffee... would definitely go again

Met friend for lunch Saturday - sat indoors - not busy, staff were attentive - somewhat overly so - communication between staff members lacking - asked numerous times by different staff if we were ready to order - had already done so - coffee wasn't hot - which I always find disappointing - steak sandwiches were very tasty - cranberry juice was great! Would give it another try though - always room for improvement...

After visit to doctor had prescription to fill - great customer service by pharmacy staff - asked if ever taken this medication previously, advised them no, and they printed out information sheet on medication and fully explained potential side effects and procedures to take if any adverse affects were experienced. Much appreciated, and made me feel totally at ease.

Went for my 2-yearly eye checkup - service was great - arrived earlier than scheduled appt time and was seated, seen straight away - great range of frames, specials (especially if health fund member, which I am) - very pleasant staff members and overall experience from start to finish - thank you! Two pairs of glasses (normal + sunglasses) with very little out of pocket ($36.50), and that was only because I selected a special coating on normal pair. Otherwise would have been $0 out of pocket.

My daughter & I had breakfast first thing Monday morning (while car being serviced) - 7.30am - store had been opened for a while - service was not great, wait time on food was lengthy considering less than 6 customers - food was ok (Canadian Breakfast Special $15.00) but not great - coffee was good - don't think I'd go there again if I was after an early breakfast experience. Sorry, guys - not great.
