One additional note: today the tradesman from Antenna Genie called after reading below review. He agreed that the review I provided was accurate however felt that an error of judgement on the trademan's part had the potential to damage his business. As such I have decided to review my rating taking into account that my review is not meant to harm rather to reflect a, in my opinion, very unusual way of doing business.
Following is my original review: A friendly gent from Antenna Genie responded to my enquiry posted via the Antenna Genie website. The tradesman called out as agreed and proceeded to investigate the 2 issues.
Upon providing us with a price (in excess of $500.00) the tradesman asked to commence the work there and then.
Since I make a habit of getting 3 quotes I told the tradesman to provide the quote in writing.
He then advised that he would not want to do the work and even if I were to call after getting the 3 quotes he would be busy.
I am a little stumped that a tradesman is unfamiliar with the quote process and clearly, when advised that more than one quote has been requested, proceed to appear annoyed that I have the temerity to make him having to compete with other antenna installers. As far as I'm concerned "easy come easy go". There are many other providers of antenna services! My subsequent efforts to get other quotes have been handsomely rewarded.
