This review is for Mesh Hair Spa, Clifton Hill VIC

verified email - 01 Feb 2015

I am not going to lie. Mesh hairdresser is saved for my VIP special occasions, work xmas party, feeling like winter has "killed" my hair,a hot new man in my life, or simply, I cannot stand my hair for another week!
Mesh is expensive, but it is quality. The staff are amazing, coffee or champas on tap, but what I like is the staff wont "sell" you a disgusting hairstyle just to give the junior apprentice a go at "highlights". If I could afford Mesh, I would be there every Saturday for their indulgent service.

Such a shame this little gem is hidden away in the back streets of Clifton Hill. TBH I only know of the coffee and home made sandwich treasure trove due to working in the street next to it. Thanks to Squirrel I have gained a life long love for home made pesto, chicken and home made mayo on Rye or a Baguette. My daughter laughingly accuses me that the year I worked one street away from Squirrel I worked solely to finance them. Oh well at least I was helping a small business!

This review is for Cash In A Flash, Brunswick VIC

verified email - 01 Feb 2015

this is not your typical "Brunswick" pawn shop.
The owner escaped the Syrian Civil War a few years back and him and his family wer warmly welcomed into Australia as they were all university educated. Dont expect your normal customer service when you enter this treasure trove. Plan for 2 hours, many warm hand shakes & many bad jokes. You can purchase just about anything here, an old persons walker with a sit on chair to a genuine Rolex. "Andy", the owner may amuse you with some terrible jokes & try to sell you something you really do not want, but I can promise you will leave with a smile, (and some gadgets you probably dont want). A treasure trove of goods and gadgets, or if your luck is down, a guarantee you will get top dollar for that old mobile phone or TV

This review is for Grillers Steak & Ribs, Thornbury VIC

Grillers recently started doing home delivery which is great. The first time I ordered steak, steam vegies with gravy I was really impressed. Everything was cooked perfectly & you would never know that the meal had been transported.
My second order was terrible, the same meal but the steak was still frozen in the centre and the vegies were much. As it was over Christmas I will give them another try but stipulate carefully my cooking preference for the steak

Ibizhair.com.au can do no wrong. All of the staff work as a team and are king and loyal. They make great suggestions in regard to your style and if it will suit your shaped face

There is a great selection of food, much of it is made to order. It is open till 6pm if you want an early dinner. I can highly recommend the chick breast fillet burger, just not the owners taste in footy clubs Carlton, lol,

What makes this florist stand out is their flair for making original and unique arrangements. They cater for weddings or just a simple "i love you" posy. Of course due to quality and craftsmanship they are expensive, but hey you cannot put a price on buying that special someone some beautiful flowers.

This review is for John Silverii Pharmacy, Fitzroy North VIC

verified email - 13 Dec 2014

I found Johns pharmacy 11 years ago when I first moved to the area. John can be a grumpy bugger at times as he has his own health issues. You learn to tease him & he cheers up.
If you are over 35 you will remember the "old fashioned" pharmacies which you cannot compare to the modern "department" store chains.
John is unable to compete with their prices . What he will do is;
NEVER sell you something you don't need or try & sell you a product the pharmacy gets a commission from.
He will make up a cream for your pets infected paw that cost under $10 compared to the vet cost of over$100.
He will take your blood pressure or give you as much time as it requires to explain what your ailment is, whether you need to see a Dr or not.
He has given me advice and suggestions which have been far superior & practical to any doctor. Basically he cares, gives you huge respect and has 40 plus years of life experience.

This review is for Coles Insurance, Melbourne VIC

verified email - 13 Dec 2014

After 26 years of rating one with a major insurer I succumbed to the budget cost of Coles Comp Ins. I justified their cheaper cost due to their lack of TV advertising.
Last March my car was stolen and later found. Within 3 days Coles emailed me for my bank a/c details to process the claim .I never heard from them again until I contacted them 3 weeks later only to be emailed, "we have decided to review the claim".- Not why etc.
4 weeks later a Private Investigator turned up at my door - He had no ID to verify he was consulting for Coles & again Coles never bothered to let me know the claim was being investigated by a consulting company.
I happily sat through the 2 hour interview as ive nothing to hide..
It is now 7 months since I lodged the claim and Coles have not bothered to phone/email once re the progress. They have my car and my full premium and I am not in a position to purchase another car until they bother to approve the claim. Until then my life is greatly inconvenienced, my young daughter having to catch a train for school to Mill Park as I cant drive her.

While you cannot complain about the stock and store lay out, it is let down by not having enough staff on during peak hours. Between 5 - 7 pm it is literally insane with singles and business people who stopped on the way home from work to grab something for dinner.
My advice, Avoid this 2 hour time slot if possible
