The food here is quite nice, however the crowded atmosphere on a Friday night ruins it. The meals usually come out quickly and are cooked well. The crowd that the Fiddler attracts can detract from the night out, it is usually overcrowded and stuffy in the Woolshed and the music up there is only good when Seattle Sounds are playing.
I found the food to be quite average based on the meals I have had there. The chips are hard and don't have that nice crunch I enjoy in my chips. It is very crowded on Fridays and attracts a young crowd so you may want to avoid this place after 7 on Fridays. The drinks are cheap and the service is fast when they're not too busy. The new refurbishments and expansion look great and give the rsl a more sophisticated feel. Not for families on weekend nights.
Great for take away. The portions are large and cheap. I share one dish and a rice with my boyfriend and this fills us up. The toong tongs (deep fried won tons) are our favourite!
The take away "vietnamese" rolls are the best. They have more traditional ingredients however my favourite is the roast pork roll. The staff are always friendly and service is fast.
Approximate cost: $8-10
You can get some really cheap good basics here for under $15. I buy all my singlets and plain tops from here. I find some items overpriced for the cheap quality however you can find some cute clothing in here. One downside is that the staff members seem to be more preoccupied with chatting to each other than putting a sale through.
If you don't have the specials the food can be quite pricey for a pub, however the thursday night rib special keeps me coming back. The best ribs for only $11, better than any I've had a specialist rib restaurants.
The staff here are excellent, very friendly and make the whole dining experience very enjoyable. The food is nice, typical Chinese food.
The food here is always nice. They make some really nice unique pizzas. Their bread twists are a great starter and food usually comes out on time despite how busy they are. Staff could be friendlier, some seem a bit distant and not interested in their job.
The only redeeming quality about this restaurant is the Hogs fries. The service is slow and unwelcoming, and the food is often cold and comes out late. I try to avoid this restaurant as much as possible.
Approximate cost: $20-25
I used to go to this restaurant all the time with my family. The service was great and the food pretty good. However I have found that the service is now slow and the food often comes out late or not cooked properly. The last time we went half our meals came out 15 minutes after the other half. All the steaks were overcooked and side dishes and sauces had been forgotten. Then we ordered coffee and dessert, we received our desserts but they had forgotten our coffees. When we finally got them they were the completley wrong order. The only thing that keeps me going back is their chocolate thunder, bloomin onion and their chicken wings which are still great.
Approximate cost: $25
