This review is for Apex Bakery, Tanunda SA

We like to go to the Barossa Valley often and visit a Bakery in one of the townships for Lunch. We have been to Apex Bakery about 5 or 6 times and the girls there are really lovely. The parking is easier there than the main street in a convenient location.

It's a nice Old Fashioned Bakery with the Charm of Yesteryear and our favorite items are their pasties with Tasty Veggies - they make theirs mushy. We found this unusual and enjoyed them! We also enjoy what they call the Bushman's Pie - you will also find small pieces of Pumpkin in it. An unexpected surprise!

PS I read in someone's review on Google (I think it was) that Apex do not use lot's of shortening in their pastry like most bakeries do - so there is some health benefits in that, hey? I would like to see butter-pastry come back into fashion because it's much healthier than so-called Veggie Oils.

This is our favorite Family Restaurant in the Adelaide Suburbs, situated in lovely surroundings of lawn and trees and walking paths. Ibis walking nearby, makes a pretty view through the Restaurant windows sometimes - we like to have Lunch there usually. I have been there a few times with one friend who enjoys it very much and also with a couple of friends who celebrate their Birthdays there (every year).

In recent months, their Chefs have been making mini Beef Wellingtons. We really like them!

The owner of this Restaurant is so gracious, warm and courteous - she always gives us a nice welcome. We love her smiley and courteous reception.

They always have a nice display of Cakes and Desserts - often there is Black Forest Cake and Pavlova. In their Savoury Section, they have really nice Pumpkin Soup often and different gravies and sauces to go with Roast Slices and Asian Dishes - Lemon Chicken is an all-time favourite for us. I think they have Honey Chicken too, from memory. All of us really enjoy the Scrumptious Roast Potatoes - not too big like some Diners and Restaurants. The Staff is always helpful and polite. Customers always leave there happy and full. They have many patrons who go to this Restaurant often - sometimes for years!

This review is for Fresh Choice, Sturt SA

We went to Fresh Choice for the first time today. A good friend of mine has been mentioning this Restaurant to me several times over the last 1 - 2 Yrs She meets with friends the other side of the city on a regular basis to Dine and Chat. I could see why, when we arrived there. We had a nice warm welcome by the same girl who spoke nicely to me over my mobile on the way there.

My brother from interstate goes there each time he comes to Adelaide and stays at Marion Holiday Park - it's a comfortable walk for him and he enjoys the experience, like we did today when he asked us to meet him there.

I like the assortments of different foods and desserts they have at Fresh Choice - even their Pizza that was moist and yummy delicious! We don't often find that in Cafes and Family Restaurants. I will be giving another review in detail about their foods when we go there again. We live NE of Adelaide.

I paid only $52.50 for three of us (Saturday Lunchtime) today. We had 2 X $3.00 Discount for Seniors they offer for any mealtime, any day or evening.

UPDATE 2020 Sorry, just noticed this Buffett Restaurant is now closed due to poor management - it was good in it's day, lots of people liked going there!

You should meet the friendly staff at Golden Grove Barnacle Bill's. I have always found them so courteous and polite. You are always welcome and the food is always great. I think it is an ideal place for meeting with friends in their New Attractive premises at the Village Shopping Centre. I like to call in on occasions when I'm shopping.

This review is for The Spud Shop, Greenacres SA

What can I say to speak highly enough of their spuds and service? And they are CONSISTENT too......Always great VALUE.....they know how to fill a container! A favourite of mine is their TRADITIONAL with coleslaw, butter, cheese and sour cream.....and you can even have small pieces of beetroot and pineapple added (they're cubed). We liked these people to start with and have been going there for about 8-10 years! They can oblige with Yiros and Wraps. We choose SPUDS EVERY TIME!!!!

This review is for Fasta Pasta, Gilles Plains SA

I had 2 nice experiences with food there followed by 3 awful experiences. I'm talking about the sauce on the Bolognaise Lasagne....it's such cheap quality (not professionally baked). There's too much runny sauce over it yet serves of bolognaise were too scimpy with the sauce according to friends. They also report a continued disregard for valid complaints and they go to a local diner now. It is a real shame because the actual venue looks really nice inside and outside, with plenty of parks. The noise people comment on is only when they're busy to be honest - most times it is OK. Our experiences span over 5-6 years.

This review is for Carousel Golden Fresh Fruit & Veg, Golden Grove SA

verified email - 04 Feb 2015

I have known this store for quite some years now. I love the freshness of their carrots, celery and cabbage in particular. Even though I like to go to the market for my fruit and Italian Veges, I always show up at the Carousel between times when I'm shopping for Groceries!

UPDDATE 2020 they left there some time ago. Tony and Marks are there now, Excellent Greengrocers who have added plenty of Gourmet Items as well. They have years of experience!

I just love to visit this store! I love the staff in the Nursery, they are so helpful and some of them have shown a personal interest in my selection of plants and projects. These workers have been well chosen. I go there sometimes just for the outing.

This review is for Garden Grove, Burton SA

I've seen the wonderful changes at Garden Grove and had some nice experiences there for a Nb of years now (about 16-17) and have heard the original story of how they commenced as a small sand and loam family business in the early days. Everything has just got bigger and better these last few years in an astonishing way....and if you shop at Bunnings, Garden Grove still has a lot to offer. Their staff are always polite and courteous.

This Restaurant prides themselves on their food and give very friendly service. Their Butter Chicken and Rogan Josh are very tasty and they have a nice room - in a small shopping centre opposite Tea Tree Plaza. They also have a Cooking Class in the evening once a month for $60.00 - you learn how to make 1 main meal, 1 entree and 1 accompaniment......very good value and a nice experience.

2021 UPDATE: I chose not to go back there because the lady tried to impose JW Religion on me, which is not an ethical practice in business. Plus, have you heard the atrocities of that religion exposed over News Media (the ABC and Four Corners) in recent times as a community concern? (the way Jehovahs Witness Teachers treat their members, very oppressive, and scary for kids). It's something to Flee from rather than promote. I personally subscribe to a simple walk with Jesus and don't mix church affiliations with that. I prefer to live the life and keep healthy mindsets. There she was standing in her restaurant, trying to convert me! I consider such things an imposition, and disrespect to one's wishes.

PS: For understandable reasons, I have changed the Star Rating for this review. I'm updating several Reviews I've made in recent years today. You could read my Reviews for other Indian Restaurants,
